Right now, Roy is obviously a shell of the player the Blazers were keen to retain and signed to a big contract, but to me it doesn't seem that fair to dump on him. I give him credit for wanting to play, to compete and help the team win rather than sit back and collect paycheques, doing what he can on knees that really aren't up to the task right now (if indeed they ever will be again). It would probably serve the Blazers well in the short term if Nate was a bit more discriminating in when he gives Roy a run, but I hope that Roy can recover from his knee problems as best he can and resurrect his career.

Knee problems? He has no knees! HE HAS NO KNEES!
LET ROY PLAY!
I remember that just a few seasons ago he was in consideration by the media for MVP.

Roy was an all-star last year right?
Fri Apr 22, 2011 2:29 am
Correct.
Fri Apr 22, 2011 1:47 pm
Roy playing like he still has knees. Portland up 2 halftime

Great game, great win for the Blazers. That last shot by Kidd really should've been ruled a three but at the end of the day if you want to win, you don't want to be in a two possession game with only that much time remaining. Nice to see Roy have a positive impact off the bench and looking spry, Matthews was just on fire in the first half too.

i'm really glad that miller made those 2 free throws at the end so that the referee's bad replay call didnt affect the end of the game. ive seen refs take an unnecessarily long time to watch out of bounds plays but they seemed to make a very quick decision on this without looking at every angle.
brandon roy earlier in the season looked his best in a backup PG position and did so again tonight. i wonder why Nate & his staff haven't put him in that role more, running Roy & Rudy as the backup guards and benching Patty Mills.
oh and i noticed tonight the return of TNT's horrible "team role" stat overlay at the free throw line. Batum's role is apparently "knowing why he's open", implying teams leave him open because he can't shoot

I noticed that too. It came off as being a bit snide to me.

they've been doing it for years. and not one of them have been anywhere close to being correct. the people that write those don't know anything about basketball

"Knowing why he's open" makes little sense, considering his eFG% is second best on the team
Sat Apr 23, 2011 4:22 am
"Six hard fouls to give" for Brendan Haywood looked pretty appropriate to me.
Sat Apr 23, 2011 4:24 am
"Knowing why teams foul him so much"
Sat Apr 23, 2011 7:10 am
He even hit two in a row on one trip to the line. Mavs fans have to pray that Chandler will be able to stay out of foul trouble for the next game. He's the perfect defender for LA, grabs offensive boards (and makes some putbacks) and sets decent screens.

exactly. i've always hated the team role overlay.
no brandon roy hate for today? i couldn't help but smile when he had that run i the late 3rd quarter. VINTAGE b roy there.

He had a game like that in February against the Nuggets. I reckon he'll be better than his 1 PPG form for the rest of the series, but I think that 16 PPG game is sadly not something you can count on.
Prove me wrong, Brandone.

The Blazers need to pull off another home win to stay in the series.
Sun Apr 24, 2011 1:21 am
Tell that to LMA.

Finally be able to watch a game. Hope it will be a good one.

Blazers are starting to come back to the game, great 4th quarter so far, hopefully it'll end well.
Sun Apr 24, 2011 9:50 am
One of the best 4th quarters that I've ever seen. Roy was fucking amazing.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
