Haha, cool to see Ibaka throwing it to Jennings and not the other way around. This rookie class is just better then the Sophs.

About K-Mart, actually it's realistic to have a player like him getting snubbed. He's pretty much one of the most underrated guys to put up over 20 ppg IRL. You will always have guys like Kobe and CP3 making the cut, because the fans love them and so the NBA has to include them, also when they don't make it via fan voting. That's how it goes.

It's tough to say that, but K-Mart will not be MVP in your D

Yeah, K-Mart is probably the most underrated two-guard in the league, and I'll go out on a limb and say the decade as well. Even though he flops his way to the foul line, he still puts the ball in the basket, which is what he's always specialized in. The reason I think fans don't recognize him is because one, he played for the Sacramento Kings, where you don't normally find All-Stars these days, and two, he's not a fancy player like Kobe or CP3. Doesn't matter if he doesn't get MVP, my main goal is the championship.

And yeah, this rookie class is pure raw talent.

Jennings' statline wasn't all that impressive, except for the shooting numbers, but that alley-oop finish was sweet. To add to that, I was controlling the Sophomores at the time!

In what was an unexpected result, Houston Rockets point guard Aaron Brooks took home the Skills Challenge trophy, after an excellent showcasing of his speed in the final round.

In the first round, Chris Paul initialized the Skills Challenge by setting a time of 28.5, the fastest time in the first round. After him went Russell Westbrook, who spent too much time attempting the 20-foot jumpshot; it took him three tries to finally get it, and thus, he finished with a time of 33.3 seconds.

Derrick Rose went next, who also struggled with the 20-foot jumpshot. He was able to zoom right through the two dribble courses, and through the chest and bounce passes, but the 20-foot jumpshot did not help him. It took him up until his fourth try to get it right, and by then, too much time had gone. He still managed to finish with a respectable 31.1 seconds.

If you think the latter two participants struggled, Rajon Rondo's turn was atrocious. It took him a couple of tries to get the bounce pass right, and did not make either of his five tries on the 20-foot jumpshot, thus just advancing to the outlet pass. He finished with 42.3 seconds, the worst time of the competition. Steve Nash went next, and just as he's done many times in the past, he breezed through the course easily, finishing with the second-best time of the first round, 29.4 seconds. Last up was Aaron Brooks, who spent quite a bit of time on the outlet pass, but just managed to pass up Derrick Rose's time to sneak into the second round.

In the second round, Aaron Brooks went first, and sped right through the dribble course, and fixed his chest, bounce, and outlet passes, and of course had no problem with the 20-foot jumpshot. He set the tone by completing the course in 26.5 seconds.

Steve Nash and Chris Paul could not complete the challenge in that given time or better. They both struggled in a couple of areas in the course, and ultimately, the two veteran point guards could not defeat the young, up-and-coming Brooks' time.

"I feel like I represented Houston well. We may not have anybody in the All-Star game, but at least we have one participant in each of the contests. Feels good to put the pressure on Chase (Budinger) and Kevin (Martin) to win their respective competitions," the winner of the Skills Challenge himself, Aaron Brooks said.

It's not too unrealistic, as in my opinion, AB's arguably the fastest of the participants, although Rose and Westbrook give him good competition.

Thanks. There is no skills challenge in 2K (unfortunately, as it's my favorite part of All-Star Saturday), but yeah, I did make up the times.

Yeah, as I said earlier, I was going to make the stuff up off the top of my head since there is no skills challenge in 2K.

I don't think that's a wild imagination. The only part of the challenge that Rondo would struggle in is the 20-foot jumpshot, so 40 seconds isn't out of the question. Tony Parker on the other hand one time got 50 seconds...

It's outrageous how many bricks were put up in this competition. When the contest-high score was 14, that tells you how cold all of the players were. When the first contestant, Jamal Crawford stepped up to the plate and set a score of nine, that just foreshadowed how ugly this contest was going to be. Afterwards, Danny Granger and Chauncey Billups tied with a score of 10, and that score was enough to force a tiebreaker to see which of those two would go on to the second round.

When Kevin Martin went up, he was flooded with a ton of boo's from the Los Angeles crowd, due to his confrontation with Kobe Bryant a few weeks ago. When asked about this, he said, "I LOVE IT. It's like music to my ears. These people are using up their breath to acknowledge me, and that's much appreciated. It'll just make it sweeter when we knock out the Lakers in the playoffs this season." At first, the boo's seemed to affect him, as the crowd cheered when he missed the first rack completely, but he began to develop his rhythm in the second rack, and would gather up a score of 14, the highest of the first round and the contest to silence the Los Angeles crowd.

Next were Manu Ginobili and Paul Pierce, the defending champion. Ginobili scraped by with a score of 11, but Pierce did not shoot like a defending champion. He got a contest-low score of eight, making himself look bad in his hometown. He too, however, was flooded with a bunch of boo's, and that maybe contributed to the bombing of this contest.

Note that Granger and Billups had to play a tiebreaker of 30 seconds on the clock, in which Granger prevailed.

The second round was pretty much the same story. Kevin Martin was once again flooded with boo's, and racked up a meager score of nine. Danny Granger went next and got a score of 10, while Manu Ginobili crowned himself the winner with a score of 13. "It was one of those rare nights in which nobody has the hot hand. Each and everyone of us was cold, so I guess that made the contest just as challenging, and more interesting," said the now former champion Paul Pierce.

"It feels great to earn an award such as this. I dedicate this to my fans in Argentina and in San Antonio. It wasn't anyone's shooting night, but someone had to win," the three-point champion Manu Ginobili said.

With none of my players in the ASG, I would've liked to have taken either the three-point contest or the dunk contest, and with Blake Griffin, that's not happening now.

The reason the scores suck is because all players were CPU controlled. I used Kevin Martin to at least advance him to the second round, but the asshole didn't take full advantage of the low scores and pour in all of the threes. For next season, I think I'll control everyone and see how it goes.

K-Mart is a superstar now, of course he can talk trash! As I said, the players were CPU-controlled, so there's your result. And people accuse the 2K11 AI of cheating. lol

With all the bricks made, Ariza would've felt right at home in this contest. And yeah, maybe the outdoor atmosphere had a somewhat psychological effect for every player. Fair point.

For the first time, the Three-point contest, Slam Dunk contest, and the Skills Challenge will be held outside Staples Center, in a newly-built concrete basketball court, with enough seats to accomodate the ticket holders.
