2011 Playoffs: (3) Celtics vs. (6) Knicks

Tue Apr 12, 2011 12:26 pm

The only first round series in the East that won't suck... maybe. The Knicks are red hot and the Celtics are ice cold. Sounds a lot like the Celtics' first round match-up from last year. New York will take a game off big nights from their stars but expect the Celtics to carve them up and shut them down. Boston in 5.

Knicks in 7.

Remember I predicted a Celtic collapse in the playoffs.

Melo > Pierce

Landry faster and youngerthan Allen, thus a hand in in Allen's face.

Amare > washed up Garnett who will get injured again.

Billups < Heady Rondo, one problem Rondo is in a funk.

Kinks Cs < healthy Celtics C's. One problem. Only one healthy Celtic C in Kristic and he is (N) (N) (Y) (N) (N) (Y) (N) i thought good ridence when OKC traded him. Shaq hasnt played well in a long time. J. O'Neal is still out of shape.

Biggest question marks.
Celtics J. O'Neal, Jeff Green
Knicks Turiaf, both Williams, and Jeffries.

Celtics in 7,

I'm hoping for a epic series like the Celtics one with the Bulls.....get that NY vs Boston rivalry back into the NBA.

Actually just looked at the schedule.....Celtics play the Knicks Wednesday in the last regular season game.

You mean they play the Knicks. ;)

The Celtics haven't been impressive as of late but I still feel it's too soon to count them out. Trading away Perkins might have just upset things enough on the floor and in the locker room to prevent them from getting past the second round, but barring any further injury problems I think they'll be able to get past the Knicks. Boston in seven.

Every season I doubted the Celtics but they always had that another gear to reach in the playoffs.

Dejavu. Dirtics in 6.

See you in the second round.

Don't jinx it for the heat!

Celts in 6. If the Knicks still had their 3 point shooters, I'd be more inclined to pick them. The Celtics are weaker without Perkins, but he's not as missed against New York. They will miss him against the Heat, and they'd miss him against Chicago. I would never completely count out Chauncey Billups, but Rajon Rondo is a terrific matchup for him.

The Knicks simply cannot be beat in this matchup. I have talked to my sources and they have assured me that the combination of two superstars in Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire is something that no team on the planet can defend. As I sat down with these exclusive sources in the mid-Manhattan coffee shop they outlined how both Carmelo and Amare had been playoff tested and now have come together to win and provide leadership not just to the franchise but to a city and nation facing incredible difficulties.

I think through their sheer skill, backed by the love of the world's greatest city they will not just inspire their team to glory, but inspire more revolutions throughout the world that we, here in America, must be ready to stand alongside as we usher in a new era of peace no matter what the military cost.

I picked Knicks in 7... I felt to guilty picking the Celtics to win the series.

Beautiful post. Agreed sir Benji. Knicks in 6.

Kincks in 7.

The Celtics don't really have a center. They traded away any hopes they had for a championship in February. Shaqosaurus-Rex is pretty beat up, and may not play. Jermaine is a big question mark, and Nenad Krstic sucks. The Knicks will probably play Amar'e at the 5 a lot, because the Celtics' best active center is probably Big Baby. Rondo is playing terribly right now, along with the rest of the team. I expect them to regain some steam in the playoffs, but it may not be enough. I'm calling for the upset, and then the Knicks will probably get dominated by the Heat.

Knicks in 7. The Knicks need a good series from Landry Fields, Douglas and their C rotation; I have faith in Billups, Melo and STAT to have a huge series.

I want what some of you cats(who picked the Knicks)are smoking. Celtics are a better team, they're battle-tested, and they play defense. Knicks don't have the pieces yet. They lose in five, maybe six.

Knicks in 7. I expect this to be the Bulls-Celtics series last 2009. But this time, the Knicks will win in Game 7 at TD Garden.

Boston in 6, for me this is the only series in the East I should watch.

I agree that the Celts will win, but I don't have the heart to pick them to win.
