They should have used Heat colors, instead of Dolphin colors

 Yes exactly. Lack of sleep fills the lapse.

From the archives: Steve Austin breaks the neck of another wrestler in a eerily similar way to his own career-threatening injury a little under five years later.

evidently taker will face -------HHH----------- at WM in another Streak v Career match

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

That'd be alright, though it makes you wonder who'd be going over with that stipulation. I've read that HHH is close to hanging it up but then again so is Taker. I still feel Taker should retire with the streak intact though.

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Sat Feb 12, 2011 11:51 am

i tihnk that's a win-win situation for both. HHH is looking to go corporate, and Taker gets to keep his streak alive. i bet after Mania, he will try to wrestle again but realize he's too old and then they will have a death of Taker angle with Kane. and possibly HHH as Raw GM? lol

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Sat Feb 12, 2011 11:58 am

Yeah, I could certainly see that happening. I would've picked HHH to wrestle a bit longer but perhaps he's really in rough shape.

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Sat Feb 12, 2011 9:42 pm

He's the only guy I could see facing 'Taker at WrestleMania. Back-to-back 'Mania matches with HBK are too hard to follow up.

Seems more sites are picking up the story, so we can probably drop the spoiler tags on this one.

Taker/Barrett could've been alright and great for Barrett's career even without putting him over with a win, but Taker/HHH is much more high profile. With Taker ending the career of HHH's on-screen and off-screen close friend, there's a ready made angle to explain it as well.

So is this a title match or does Jeff Hardy get custody of his meth if he wins this match? #tna

haa

So the wrestling quality wasnt bad for the TNA PPV. The ladder match had a lot of rough high spots and botched the ending but overall was nice. The gimmick KO match (last KO standing) wasnt terrible and seeing Steiner do a FrankenSteiner again was just scary.

That said, I dont like the personal storylines. I mean they are deep, but it was depressing. Bully Ray beating up DVon's kids while he's handcuffed? Angle "losing custody" of his kids after losing to double J? TNA definitely succeeds in bringing a darker more "realistic" story to the table compared to the WWE but I dunno, those two story lines are just a bit too dark....especially since Dvon's kids sold death and were basically ragdolls throughout everything.

From the pwinsider recap
TNA should be really proud of this show. Not overbooked nonsense, lots of good wrestling, some great angles and some emotional stuff. This was TNA at its best and I hope they can keep some of the momentum they built tonight. Total thumbs up. You'll want to go out of your way to see a replay or a DVD of this one.

Maybe I expect too much from TNA? Or maybe I just didnt like the emotional stuff as much as everyone else. I do agree though that the in ring stuff was really good.

i mean, it is kinda messed up they bring angle's personal life to work, but then again he is a professional and that's what he gets paid to do. if he doesn't like tna being dicks to him then he can always join vince again and be on the road for most of the year.

How does that make sense? If it hasn't aired, it's a spoiler, regardless of where else it's posted.

Just watched SmackDown...who the fuck booked that moronic main event?

Yeah, they walk a fine line when there's an element of reality involved, compared to a feud like Bret vs Owen in the mid 90s which was a complete work. Both are intend to elicit an emotional response from the audience but the former can be distasteful and uncomfortable to watch. WWE did the same thing with Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero back in 2005, the ladder match for custody of Rey's son Dominic after it was revealed in kayfabe that he was actually Eddie's son (or possibly Eddie's son, I forget which). The matches in that feud were great and intense, the angle was certainly emotional, but at the same time it was a little off.

The Rock's promo on guest hosting WM, being back "home" and "promising" to not leave again

and then calling out Cena

seeing Booker T & Diesel back in action for 5 mins plus this promo is the best of wrestling i have seen in years. i knew it was th erock and i was still excited as a MF when he came out

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Sounds like a new version of The Rock's theme.

What can you say? Fantastic promo, a complete mark out moment. You do have to wonder what he means about not going away when he's mentioned before that he's not interested in wrestling any more matches. One's a fakeout and I hope it's the latter, especially as they seem to be planting the seed for something with John Cena.

Verbally taking down Michael Cole? Without a question the cherry on top.

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Tue Feb 15, 2011 10:40 pm

yeah man it was more rock/guitarish for sure. and his appearance makes me wonder why all of the newer wrestlers (that's those that joined wwe after randy orton) don't stand on the ropes to pose anymore and why they don't give great heel or face promos anymore. promos nowadays are usually limited to "lets come out and talk for 5-20 minutes about how I feel about my upcoming title match"

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Tue Feb 15, 2011 11:23 pm

I think it's partly because he got away with pushing the limits of PG in his promo, which most current wrestlers do not. It's made the faces in particular look very corny, save for the likes of Undertaker and Randy Orton because there's a badass edge to their characters. He's also got a lot of natural charisma to begin with and is one of the best promos in the history of the business, so it's no surprise that he outclassed pretty much everyone currently on the roster in that segment.

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Tue Feb 15, 2011 11:28 pm

Only The Rock can succesfully break character and get back into it in the same damn promo.

That comment is good.
I also liked this one...
I swear, the second I heard the start of his theme song, my faith in humanity was instantly restored.

Goosebumps! Everytime I hear the start of the Rock's theme.

 Must watch Raw replay. Even if I already saw it in the vid Lean posted, must still watch Raw reply if only for The Rock. :bowdown2:

Add the Michael Cole's ass handed sideways verbally. Great moment for Raw. I hope he gets back to wrestling and beat the crap out of Cena.
