On snapping their losing streak...

"I knew we could do it, but it was just a matter of time on when we're going to do it. We stepped our game up a notch tonight and came out with the W. If we can play like this consistently, we will be a very tough team to beat in the West."

On their season...

"We still have alot of young talent to evaluate. It's a little too early in the season to tell what are we planning on doing. We have to play other players and see who really deserves playing time. Nuggets Affected by the Early-Bird Game?

By Arthur Barclay

TORONTO-The Nuggets are on the road playing a 1:00 pm game. "Early games always affect a team or player at times. The thing is, your so use to playing late and getting your sleep during this time," veteran Voshon Lenard said.

Denver will host the Toronto Raptors today who are playing pretty well so far in the season. They can be very dangers at times with Vince Carter, Jalen Rose, Chris Bosh and Donyell Marshall. They have a very athletic team and are very hard to contain. Jalen Rose leads the team in scoring 21.6 ppg. He also averages 4.2 apg. Carter is averaging 17.6 ppg and 7.6 rpg.

Denver ended a 2-game losing streak against the L.A. Clippers the other day. Carmelo scored had back-to-back 30 pt games with. He scored 32 pts against the Clippers, while Andre Miller had 24 pts, 8 asts and 7 rebs.

Key Matchup:
Carmelo Anthony vs. Vince Carter

Both players are very explosive and can do anything with a basketball. Vince Carter is the best leaper in the game and Carmelo just getting started. These two are expected to put on a show tonight as they guard each other in the game. You will see alot of spectacular dunks from both players.

TORONTO-Carmelo Anthony was off to another hot start. He scored 10 pts in the 1st quarter of the game and the Nuggets led 24-20 at the end of the 1st. Andre Miller was fired up with 8 pts in the 1st quarter. None of the Raptors we're surprising in this quarter.

It was a very low scoring 3rd quarter for Denver. The Raptors outscored the Nuggets 19-9 in the 3rd quarter. Denver shot 21% and the Raptors regained the lead 57-55 at the end of 3.

Morris Peterson was hurt in the game with a sprained ankle. He managed to comeback in the 4th quarter after being out the 3rd. The Nuggets were down 12 early in the 4th quarter. They managed to cut the lead down to 8 pts with 2:37 left to play. The Nuggets couldn't get the comeback and they lost the game 90-82.

Carmelo had another great game, scoring 30+ pts in his 3rd consecutive game. He had 35 pts and 4 blks. Andre Miller scored 16 pts, but only had 3 asts. Lenard had 11 pts, while Nene had 8 pts and 17 rebs. Donyell Marshall was the Player of the Game with 15 pts and 11 rebs. Alvin Williams came off the bench to score 22 pts. i think its time for me to trade. im looking to get rid of lenard and nene and doleac. The keepers on my team are: Carmelo, Camby, Miller, C.Anderson, White, Boykins, Barry. Any ideas on who I can get? Im looking to get a SG and PF in a deal. It can be opposite deals, but who are some good players to go after of to make the deal realistic. I was thinking of Joe Johnson. I was also looking at Amare too, but I dont know if I could get a realistic deal out of it. I think I can though. If I were to get both of them in a package I would add someone like Anderson, Barry or Camby probably. Any Ideas?

Amare would be good, have you thought of Bosh??, wouldn't be as hard to get, plus Toronto has plenty of guards if you wanted to chuck on in the deal.

On the game...

"It was a great game for us. I didn't expect to fit so well into the system in just the 1st game. We came out in the 3rd quarter and played them tough so we could gain some ground. Playing with Carmelo is great because he loves to run the floor and you can just give the ball to him and he can create for himself. Andre is a good fundamental point guard. This should be a great year for us."

Carmelo=Star Power

By Arthur Barclay

MINNESOTA-Carmel Anthony is leading the league in scoring with 30.6 ppg. He is by far the best rookie so far in the season. He wants to make his teammates better. "I don't want to have to score alot of points just so my team can win every night. I really would like to share the ball more and would like for others to start shooting more than what they do," said Anthony.

Denver comes into the game with a 5-4 record. After going 3-0 at teh beginning of the season, they are now 2-4 since then. "We will get it together soon. We have made some deals and this is a completely new team," Bzdelik said.

Minnesota is led by one of the best players in the NBA in Kevin Garnett. He is averaging 20.5 ppg, 14.9 rpg, 5.1 apg and 2.1 bog. "he is no doubt the best player in the league," Bzdelik said. "he can do everything on the court and he feels up the stat sheet."

Denver and the Twolves are in the same division. Both teams will battle it out this season to secure playoff spots in the postseason. This is a very important game for both teams.

Key Matchup:
Amare Stoudemire vs. Kevin Garnett

Garnett will face his youngest idol tonight. Amare came straight out of high school just like KG did. He is becoming an all-star caliber player in this league and will be a great force on the inside. KG has the length over Amare, but Amare never backs down from anybody. He has the size advantage on KG and will be a great matchup tonight.

On his performance...

"I've been feeling great after a few games in the league. I feel that I can do anything right now and I'm just hot. It seems like my teammates are looking for me to become the leader of this team and they will either win with me or lose with me. I will step up and become the leader and do the right things so we can make the playoffs this season."

On Carmelo's gameplay...

"He has been amazing in the early season. He is playing better than any other player in the league right now. The thing is, he is a rookie. This young man is playing tremendously well and will be very exciting to watch for the rest of the season. He is an excellent learner and will help his teammates out as well. He carries himself like a veteran. He is no doubt a pro's pro."
