Figuring out values

Sun Jan 23, 2011 10:30 pm

Hey, i just figured out that you can edit other teams' players in dynasty mode by changing the ishuman value in teams.dbf
my other concern is, if i were to change the team value of rookie prospects to 32 (which is the Retired Players), will it affect my dynasty? Or will these players just show up come free agency signing time?

And the ratings of these generated rookies are crazy! has anybody fixed this?

I am just giving you a heads up.

Generally speaking, it's not recommended that you change the ISHUMAN field as it can cause crashes. It's better to modify the ratings for CPU controlled teams through editing the database directly if need be.

If you move a player to the Retired Pool, they will not be in the active rosters and the game will wipe them from the database during the next offseason (or if you do it before starting a Dynasty, upon starting the first season).

There is no fix for generated rookie ratings except to manually change them yourself.

the players appeared in the offseason! the game didn't wipe it out. i think this is a topic outside my other concerns, so im sorry if this seems junk to you. anyway, values are easy to change. but the accessories are hard to change! and is there a .dbf value where in i can set rivalry games? does having that rivalry game label affect how the commentators comment on the game?

That's strange, placing players in the Retired Pool usually gets rid of them.

Rivalry games begin at the highest intensity level; there's a column for it but I don't actually have the values mapped out. It is possible to change if you want to spend some time fooling around with it and figuring out all the values. I don't think it changes much about the commentary, except perhaps some opening comments that are triggered by the intensity level.

mr andrew, can i edit my gm rating to 100 so that i could get an offer from a losing team? i've been stuck with a losing team for 3years now and i want change. is it possible? i looked at gmhistory.dbf but there seemed no value for that.

If it's not in there, you might have to change franchise.dat with a hex editor and I'm afraid I can't suggest where to begin there.
