Miami (AP) - For the second consecutive game the Wizards were involved in a opening season tipoff, this time against the NBA favorites Miami Heat, and almost recorded the upset until the Heat pulled away late in the third quarter.
Why the Wizards lost: Not that John Wall was the reason why the Wizards lost, he performed badly in the second half, after recording 2 of 6 field goals in the first half, he went 2 of 11 with 6:42 remaining in the fourth quarter, quite the lapse... The Wizards recorded just 32% of their field goals. And the Wizards led 30-29 with 2:21 left in the second quarter, the Heat really shut he game down with their third quarter run.
Why the Heat won: Their 17-2 run in the last 4:37 with 4:24 remaining in the third quarter gave the Heat a 54-39 lead after being down 30-29 with just over 2 minutes left in the second quarter, Lebron James may of not recorded a point until deep into the second quarter, it left Wade open for a few baskets.

Washington (AP) - Despite John Wall recording a double-double in his first start at the Verizon Center, the Wizards managed to blow another lead away and let the Orlando Magic blow them out... again.
Why the Wizards lost: The Wizards are not a bad team at all, their defense is better than last year's but what they are not doing so well is converting their field goals. Just don't expect to see them win when they xonvert just 38% of their field goals. They went 30 of 77 and even worse 3 of 20 on three pointers, throw in their 23 fouls to Orlando's 10 and you have a problem.
Why the Magic won: With 4:55 remaining in the second period, the Magic were up 36-30, they had been on a 16-6 run in the last 4:31 minutes of the quarter, that period right there summed up the game being a blowout.
