I don't play any of the old games I remember, mainly because I always traded in my PC/console for the next gen stuff. But...

I remember when my Uncle bought an Atari 2600. That's when it all began... Yar's Revenge and Combat, and most definitely Pitfall.

My first PC was a Atari ST. Ridiculous as it sounds, it had no hard-drive, but I remember playing TV Sports Football, and TV Sports Basketball (my first computer-basketball experience). I also flogged Rainbow Island, a classic platformer.

When the mega-drive came out, I used to hire that out for a night with California Games. I remember getting really frustrated at the BMX and footsal on that game. I was pretty stoked though when NBA Jam and NBA Showdown '94 came out on that console.

Ahh the memories...

That mention of YouTube just reminded me of another old favourite I'll play from time to time: Lemmings. The reason YouTube reminded me of that is because there's solutions to every level posted on YouTube, something that would have been very handy all those years ago when I'd stay up late on weekends with my father trying to solve all the levels in the original. Good times.

The Great Mighty Poo level was always my favorite in Conker's. It was easy (sometimes), and fun. I remember I passed the whole story, but the Spooky chapter I hated so much, especially the Zombies.

Yep, the Spooky chapter was the one I liked the least. The Mighty Poo, the jet board part and the Colisseum (where you mount the dinosaur) were my favs.

Yeah, that's awesome. Hypnotizing the dinosaur is a pain in the ass, but then beating that big caveman is fun and hilarious. I also like the final chapter, but beating that alien is a lot harder than the spooky chapter.

The last few chapters definitely weren't a walk in the park. Escaping the timebomb in "It's War!" was one of my least favourite parts of the game.

I'd do that too. I think it's something worth doing in games when you get stuck, especially if it's a game that gets difficult fairly quickly.

anybody ever play Jagged Alliance on PC? it's a turn-based RPG shooter, which is pretty unique in itself. it's similar to x-com except mercenaries have different personalities & voices. they made a version for nintendo DS recently

Jagged Alliance rules. Too many moments when my gun jammed on me and the cpu easily kills me when my turn is over.

the politics in the game were crazy. i would hate hiring somebody and then someone would "disappear" overnight.
