Playing with a xbox 360 controller

Hey guys i just got NBA 2k11 and ive installed it but when i run the game on my laptop my xbox 360 controller doesnt work, i have to navigate and move using the keyboard / touchpad, are there any steps you have to follow to get your 360 controller to work or any drivers? its detected by windows in the control panel just in game it doesnt work, can anyone help me out im sort of new to using a 360 controller on the pc

make sure you press start with the controller at the main screen instead of pressing enter on the keyboard.

are you using any custom xbcd drivers?

I try to press start on my xbox controller at the menu but nothing happens it just says hit "ent" which when i do on my keyboard it works but when i press anything on 360 controller nothing happens. Drivers? hmm no i dont think so, do you have a link i can download them from? its pretty hard navigating the menu on a touchpad, im using windows 7 btw

i have had a similar problem with other gamepads, in my case the problem was that the button configuration was wrong, so after iniciating the game i had to go to options, controlls, config controll, and then buttom by buttom start configurating them all in the right way, hope this works for you =PP

Make sure the xbox controller lights up (that X button in the middle of controller) before you start 2K11.

Did you install the drivers for the controller yet?
