Monta is the only one who should feel robbed in West. Only change I'd make in East would be swapping Iggy for Granger.

It's not a shock to everybody after they were covered in the 1st Trimester Report. They started season with a berserk (pro-rata) 31-6 record. They have actually come back to Earth now, only going 9-11 in the 2nd trimester. Fortunately for them they are in the East & my victory over Boston sent them into a downward spiral, which helped keep Knicks at top of the East

TURNER & JOHNSON RUN RAMPANT AS ROOKIES ROCK SOPHOMORES

The Rookies blitzed the Sophomores 77-41 in the second and third quarters on the way to a blowout win, 119-96. The final margin flattered the Sophomores who found themselves down by 38 points at one point early in the fourth quarter before the Rookies took pity on their elders.

Stat stuffing Minnesota rookie swingman Wesley Johnson garnered Rookie Game MVP honours, which came as a surprise to many as many of his baskets came in the second half once the game was well and truly over. It was actually 76ers' rookie guard Evan Turner who took the game by storm in a decisive second quarter as he ripped apart the Sophomores' defense with a wide variety of baskets from inside and outside the arc before he seemed to take his foot off the pedal in the second half and let his fellow Rookies enjoy running up the score.

Re: X's T'wolves Association (NBA 2K11): 23-40 *ROOKIES ROMP

Postby The X on Wed Dec 29, 2010 8:26 pm

Sorry about the lack of pics guys. I did have some Pressbook ones but 2k server seemed to be stuffing up when I was trying to upload them. Unless they magically appear on my 2k account, there ain't any (N)

I think I might be set to move up to All-Star difficulty. Game has suddenly become a lot easier. Must've been the patch that got released. How else do I suddenly go on long winning streaks?

As for the above game, Wes Johnson didn't deserve MVP, Evan Turner did. Turner was an absolute stud. Shame he can't play like that IRL, but I have not lost faith in him. I'm gutted Blake Griffin got snubbed. I'll get to use him next season as a Sophomore I guess (Y)

ROY, EVANS WRECK HAVOC, WEST BLOWS OUT EAST 131-102 IN LA

The Western Conference All-Stars used a 40-21 fourth quarter to blow out the Eastern Conference All-Stars 131-102 in Los Angeles. All-Star MVP Brandon Roy was instrumental in the win, but the award could've easily have gone to second year guard Tyreke Evans or Spurs veteran Manu Ginobili, whom both played sublimely in the runaway win.

NOTABLE PERFORMERS

SG- Tyreke Evans (West - SAC): 28pts, 6rebs, 2blks
SG- Brandon Roy (West - POR): 23pts, 9rebs, 6asts, 2stls [MVP]
PG- Derrick Rose (East - CHI): 22pts, 5asts
PG- John Wall (East - WAS): 21pts, 4asts
SG- Manu Ginobili (West - SAS): 13pts, 10rebs, 6asts, 4stls

Didn't end up playing All-Star Game. I only play in All-Star events that I actually make so that's why I played Rookie Challenge & not All-Star Game.

In other Association news, apart from my win streak coming to an abrupt end with back-to-back losses, I have moved up to All-Star level for more of a challenge (Y) Jordan Hill also decided to get his wrist broken by that thug Chris Kaman. Out 4 to 6 weeks (N)

Haven't checked in for a while, would've loved to see some more depth from the ASW coverage but I guess the second part of the season will be more intriguing anyway (I always find it a drag covering ASW) (Y)

Tough stretch basically ends your season, but you've already improved on last year's team by eight wins. I'd suggest you play your prospects in the final months and enter the Lambros Washburn sweepstakes. ;)

In other news, trade deadline has passed. Suns did their usual thing, dumping salary (Frye) & their 2011 1st Rounder for Delfino & Bucks' 2011 2nd Rounder. Actually a pretty realistic deal since Suns don't like carrying contracts.

No production from All-Star big men. Bogut was best with 8 & 13 off the bench. It was a guard show by both teams.

As for scouting reports, I did one about a week ago (viewtopic.php?p=1316647#p1316647) & didn't get any bites. That's three so far this season. There's likely going to be a March Madness update soonish since I've entered the month of March in my Association. Other than that, one final scouting update for the season in final trimester report. No more Multi-Verse coverage for a while though.

Btw, Jin Lam looks like he'll be really good. But even if he was available don't think I want to waste my pick on a Chinese player after seeing Yi etc as busts :P

Yep, annoying about 2k servers. Don't know what's going on with them. Maybe they're disabling feature to try to improve online play. Understandable if they are but would be very annoying if that was the case (N)

Yep, Wes is starting to find a way to contribute more than just running the floor & filling the lanes.

Thierry • wrote:Nice all-around game by Manu

Yep, everybody loves Manu. He just needs to use some of his money to buy some hair :bowdown2:

Axel. wrote:Curse that Chris Caveman! :x Also sucks to hear about your win streak come to an end, but this is the T-Wolves after all.

I was never going to beat Heat in that simmed game, but should've beaten Clippers. I think with a healthy Darko & Jordan Hill, I could've destroyed Caveman. Beasley had a nice breakout game though, 28pts :bowdown2:

Valor wrote:Haven't checked in for a while, would've loved to see some more depth from the ASW coverage but I guess the second part of the season will be more intriguing anyway (I always find it a drag covering ASW) (Y)

Rookie Game would've had more coverage with pics but 2k servers aren't uploading shite. If that doesn't improve this Association will be Sit-like for a while & rely on limited to no pics, which sucks. I agree is a drag to cover ASW. As I said previously, I'm just going to add more coverage for All-Star events I make.

It was a pretty vicious play by Kaman. He didn't even make a play for the ball :x

Realistically season was over by December given that I sim half my games. Might call up Lazar Hayward from D-League & give him a few spot minutes. Pekovic will probably get a few more minutes also. Still unsure of where my team is headed direction-wise. The Kahn Effect I guess. I should hopefully have a better idea after the draft.

I've starting scouting Lambros. He's looking good with his five o'clock shadow (Y) Early NBA comparison is Tony Parker. Don't get the 2k11 comparisons but we shall see come pre-draft workouts.

I did read the scouting reports. I just thought the Fisher trade was much more worthy of a comment. :P

But what I was talking about is March Madness type recaps :) And then a mock draft would be nice. Anything else is just going to waste time as I want to see you get to the Draft as quick as possible :) Can't wait for the offseason. Always lots of fun!

Yep, I had planned on some brief March Madness blurb type recaps, partly your style, partly mine. Mock Draft, hmm perhaps. Does 2k do Draft Lottery during playoffs or not until season? If the former I will do a lottery mock draft then, otherwise I might do a basic one in last trimester update instead of scouting recaps.

On the topic of Fish, he wasn't happy with trade to Nuggets so he has announced that he plans to retire at season's end. Thought you might be interested in that. Also Renaldo Balkman isn't happy about his lack of playing time. What does he expect? SF's he's behind are Artest & Matt Barnes & Odom & Sefolosha can play minutes there too.

Draft lottery is after the season has finished.

Just do a basic thing I guess. We're all busy these days! It is good to see so many of your updates but I know they will dry up in a few weeks time :(

As for Fish, he's a true Laker at heart. He was obviously broken by the trade!

Yep, that's what I thought about Fish.

As for updates, I haven't been doing that many. A few small All-Star updates along with the trimester updates that I had mostly written on Word a week before I posted them. Anyways, I'm going to head, try & play another game or two. With 2k servers screwing up, may as well try to advance the season I guess :P I'm just going to try & be a little bit smarter with my updates. They will dry up a little yes, but without having to do Darko ones, I can concentrate on the ones that ppl prefer.

As for my current prediction of who will make the Finals in this multi-verse, not sure. Heat are looking superb, they're really gelling. They have to be favourites to win the East narrowly over Celtics. In the West the Lakers are still favourites & seem to be surviving without Gasol. Thunder will challenge them & don't be surprised if Fisher's Nuggets end up knocking them out of the playoffs. Life has a funny way of working out like that at times :P
