After being handed a blowing lose to the Thunder Mike D'Antoni looked down his bench at his banged up tired team and looked straight to GM Donnie Walsh for help.

With star co-captains Amare Stoudemire and Raymond Felton both in need of reduced minutes the Knicks will look to add some support to give them 5-10 minute breathers in the game and keep them fresh for crunch time 4th quarters where the Knicks have flat out run out of gas.

The Knicks already have 2 young players that fit the bill in Anthony Randolph and Toney Douglas but Randolph hasnt preformed well so far at either end of the court and Douglas is more of a scoring 2 guard than a point so the offence doesnt run as smoothly as coach would like.

New York is know looking at trades and free agents to plug the minutes with points guards like Sebastian Telfair , Jason Williams and Ramon Sessions all being looked at via trades with knick guards Bill Walker , Kelenna Azubuike and Roger Mason been made available.

As for the big men Donnie Walsh has been looking towards free agent being looking at former Nets Sean Williams , Josh Boone and Mikki Moore as well as former Warrior and briefly a knick Chris Hunter.

Some D-League bigs that are making news are Kenny Adams 6.10 247lbs (21.7ppg 10.1rpg) of the Maine Red Claws , Rich Payton (18ppg 11.5rpg) of the Texas Legends and Lewis George (8.2ppg 10.7rpg 2.2bpg) of the Springfield Armor

Yeah scoring i have no problem with but true to life (and realistic of 2k) iam playing him 40 minutes a game to win games so when you look at him running up court and when he's at the free throw line he's really blowing so the first thing he stops doing is rebounding and defending so if i can sort that problem out i think he's got a good shot at it !

Welcome to this Christmas edition of The Association.

Today we will bring you news of another coaching change in the league, tell you which teams picked up new players along with your weekly D-League news and a round up of all the Christmas day games.

The nba once again handed out its Player of the week awards and to no ones surprise LeBron James of the Miami Heat took home the East POW for the 3rd straight week after the Heat posted a 3-0 record with key wins over the Mavs , Suns and league leading LA Lakers averaging 31.3ppg 9.0rpg 5apg 4.3spg he put up his best game vs the Mavs with 31 points 12 rebounds6 assists 4 steals and 1 block.

The nba gave the West's award to Al Jefferson of the Utah Jazz which turned a few heads after the Jazz went 1-1 this week however Big Al posted numbers of 33.0ppg 16.5rpg 3.0bpg with his best performance coming against his former team the Timberwolves with 39 points 20 rebounds and 4 blocks.

As we head into the nba's weekly news we start with another coaching change as the Raptors have ditched Jay Triano replacing him with assistant Rob Little.

The Raptors have a record of 8-22 and have lost 13 of there last 15 games.

The Spurs signed ex player Michael Finley to a 1 year deal this week after the loss of Antonio McDyess , in 4 games he is averaging 2.5ppg and 1.6rpg in 11 minutes of action.

The Utah Jazz also looked for wing help in the form of 13 year vet Larry Hughes who has been a pleasant surprise for coach Jerry Sloan starting at the 2 spot in 5 games averaging 15.4ppg 3.0rpg 1.1apg and 2.6spg playing 34 minutes a contest.

The D-League game of the week saw the New Mexico Thurderbirds lose at the hands of the Rio Grande Vally Vipers 100-104.
The Thunderbirds star and Orlando Magic back up forward Ryan Anderson had another solid outing with 29 points (5-8 3's) and 5 rebounds but was out done by Vipers former UCLA standout Ed Jacobs who went undrafted 3 years ago scored a game high 37 points grabbing 7 rebounds too.

Some players the knicks have got there eye on were also in action this week Kenny Adams posting 24 points and 8 rebounds in a loss to the Iowa Energy , Bayhawks center John Hart catch the eye of Donnie Walsh pulling 21 rebounds in a win over the Energy and Pistons center Greg Monroe made his début for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants adding 22 points 15 rebounds in the loss.

The Christmas day games brought joy to the fans as the league showcased its best teams , the knicks topping the Bulls 82-118 behind a steady knicks bench.

The game of the night had to the Heat vs Lakers , Miami coming away with the win behind 86 points from the big 3.

Orlando vs Boston resulted in a 2 point victory to the Magic at home 99-101 holding off the hot hand of Ray Allen's 32 points , Denver came away with a win in Oklahoma City 100-95 behind a double double of of 27 & 10 from Melo.

The final game out west saw the Blazers taken apart 86-111 vs the Warriors in Oakland powered by David Lee's monster 30 point 16 rebound 5 assists night.

27th Dec 2010 Trade News

Today the Orlando Magic completed 2 trades that landed them an old face and a couple of scoring machines in a "lay all your cards out deal".

The 1st deal of the day saw them send Rashard Lewis to Washington in exchange for troubled guard Gilbert Arenas then in there 2nd deal bringing back Hedo Turkoglu from Phoenix along with sharp shooter Jason Richardson and young forward Earl Clarke , the Suns got Vince Carter , Mickael Pietrus and center Marcin Gortat in return.



Also the Rockets/Nets and Lakers also pulled off a 3 team trade todays with New Jersey sending Terrence Williams to Houston for a 1st round draft pick , Joe Smith to the Lakers for Sasha Vujacic while to make the deal work Houston had to part ways with Chuck Hayes sending him to LA.

The knicks today welcomed back forward Danilo Gallinari to there lineup after missing 2 weeks with a sore back though after the strong play of Wilson Chandler coach Mike D'Antoni has decided to shuffle his starting lineup around keeping both of his forwards in there and moving Amare Stoudemire over to center where he played some of his best ball in Phoenix at that position.
