Gotta love Bob Oracle and Mark Followell, Mark was the All-Star PA in 2010, so that was his voice. Great guys.

Mike Breen, Jackson, and Van Gundy are hands down awesome..... in the halftime section however
:turrible: Sir Charles

The ESPN trio is really awesome. (Y) I also like the Marv, Kerr, and Reggie Miller trio at TNT.

It's Ortegel. Whoops.

The Sixers/Celtics game was shown here today, so I got to listen to Tommy. He certainly still bleeds Celtic green.

for Tommy you need to come up with something bigger than "Bleeds Green"

I was going to say that he's entertaining but biased beyond any credibility as an analyst, but that seemed a little disrespectful. :P

I don't like the Clippers guys. That 'mi-oh-my' or whatever doesn't really fit when Blake gets another poster for his collection. The other guy is solid though.

on nba tv they're showing an old abc broadcast and i gotta say al michaels and sal masekela were part of the worst broadcasts of all time (yes, worse than heinsohn. i know, how could it be possible? well, it is.). even being a decent broadcaster couldn't save al michaels from terrible mistakes from just not knowing anything about basketball. hubie brown had to save him all the time. and sal is the snowboarding guy. what does he know about basketball? c'mon abc, don't put him on there just because he's black.

Following up on what I said before about warming up to ESPN, they've shed a lot of their worst colour commentators and studio analysts over the years. Tom Tolbert and Stephen A. Smith top that list for me.

Re: Best NBA broadcast ?

Fri Dec 24, 2010 9:52 am

yeah al michaels is the worst that they had. i say masekela is 2nd. stephen A. was #3 for me just for the annoying factor. i forgot that man even existed until you just mentioned him. they have a smith clone in chris broussard now so it's all good because he's not annoying and talks less. tolbert would be #4 and is comparable to jon barry but i liked barry as a player so that saves him from any "bad analyst" lists.

A lot of people seem to like Stephen A. and find him entertaining, but in my opinion he tried too hard to be funny, brash, controversial and insightful all at once and usually fell short in each area (except perhaps brashness, which didn't make him all that enjoyable to listen to).

My dream tandem would be Bill Walton and Jack Haley. I would probably close my eyes and listen to them speak.
