Kofi's the current number one contender for the IC Championship.

i wasn't a fan of his either. his gimmick move is worse than cena's terrible 5 knuckle shuffle. that ballin' thing he does was so outdated. i don't remember the last time someone actually did that in real life. maybe '07 or '08 at the latest.

He was really getting over when they first moved him over to RAW. They never really gave him a proper push or developed his character though, he was probably destined to be a career midcarder at best.

Would that match have been any good anyway?

As great as HBK is, I don't know that he'd have carried Hogan to a five star match in terms of ring work. It could have been better though.

Totally not John Cena. Could have at least made a couple more changes to the ring attire.

'the hell is this?

Either a house show-only gimmick so as to not interfere with the current television storylines, or something they've backed off doing on TV. Oh, and a complete farce.

got an email for a January supershow in Springfield, MA featuring John Cena's Mexican cousin "Juan Cena"

Better brush up on your Spanish "Cena sucks" chant.

Would be pretty cool if "Juan Cena" has a personal ring announcer

It's time for him to do a Hurricanrana! Once he does that, it's time for me to quit watching wrestling.

Makes you wonder how long they're going to drag out the gimmick at house shows and the "fired" angle on TV. That stuff is always subject to change so it doesn't set anything in stone, but it opens up the possibility that the angle could continue through the Royal Rumble.

or he'll be the "surprise" rumble entrant they seem to be doing too often

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

He'd probably win it again if they went that route.

Oh crap. Then it will be him and Orton again.

it's been a year so the WWE things we've forgotten....like when Christian told Edge he knew him since Grade School, the kids ate that shit up while us old fucks said I THOUGHT THEY WERE BROTHERS

LIARS

After all Orton did to Cena.....they hugged.....bah

They sure do like their revisionist history. Kane's supposedly scarred face, Matt turning on Jeff and helping Edge in the process, bringing HHH's marriage to Stephanie back in the storylines despite having been divorced on camera for several years and since then, having a feud between Vince and HHH when DX reformed in 2006. It's times like that when you realise that wrestling truly is a male soap opera, you're not supposed to think of anything the writers don't currently want you to.

and matt striker seemed to be the only one that mentioned R-Truth was a former hardcore champion when he was getting his us title push. btw, wasn't his title reign pretty short?

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Sun Dec 05, 2010 9:26 pm

Probably. There were reigns that were lasting less than an hour around that point in the Hardcore title's history. JBL racked up over 20 reigns, from memory.

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Sun Dec 05, 2010 9:44 pm

I think he meant his US Title reign, which was pretty short as well, only one or two weeks IIRC, before losing it to ... The Miz.

Re: Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Sun Dec 05, 2010 11:26 pm

My mistake. Yeah, his reign with the US title was short, just 21 days. His Hardcore title reigns were even shorter though; the length of both his reigns combined is still less than one day. That was of course after the 24/7 rule was incorporated, a somewhat creative gimmick at first that went a bit too far and hastened the belt's demise as a minor championship that held any kind of interest.

Mon Dec 06, 2010 6:11 am

yeah i meant us

i was really glad to see him get his push but after he lost it back to the miz he seemed to fade into obscurity with eve dacing somewhere in the background

I have a feeling that there'll always be a ceiling on how far he can go in WWE because of his criminal record. I'm not sure the exact details but whenever he misses a taping or house show that's in Canada, that's cited as the reason. It's not like WWE runs shows in Canada every week but I'm sure they'd rather not have to leave a top name off the card for a TV or PPV due to those circumstances, so I'm guessing he's never going to break through the midcard in WWE.
