Next to Howard/Gortat, Perkins/Shaq/Jermaine (when Perk returns) and Camby/Oden/Przybilla (when Oden and/or Przybilla return).

There's some stupid guy in the realgm boards telling Haywood to be traded.

I don't think it's all that stupid to trade Haywood. Chandler has registered some ass wooping numbers in ORTG and WS so far in the season while Haywood not. If Chan keeps it up and Hay not, Hay's trade value will gradually decline.
So I don't see why not Dallas shouldn't try to trade him while Hay holds a high value. If you couple him up with other budget wasting star in a trade, the Mavs actually might be able to upgrade a roster.

You don't think he's gonna stop shooting 83%?
Fri Nov 12, 2010 5:22 pm
Tyson has been the best player by your standard though while Hay one of the worst.

Gee, thanks for posting the link for me.
It's not like its based off of a small sample size or anything. I reckon the Miami Defeat are a .555 team, and are definitely worse than the 6-3 Warriors.

Just saying Haywood's value is likely drop a lot this year while Tyson plays good. Not sure if Hay's worth the money he's getting especially considering his awful production, 3.6 ppg, turnover rates, awful ortg and ws. Might not be a bad idea to trade him since he's still considered as a decent big.
Fri Nov 12, 2010 5:38 pm
It's 7 games though. Seems like it would be smarter to have a fire sale on their washed-up fringe all-stars (Terry, Marion, Butler, etc.) than trade their excellent Center to give the reins to an extremely injury prone player bound to regress to the mean.
And Haywood is a bit tougher to move than you might think. How many teams would be willing to trade decent assets for an almost 31 year old Center (that isn't a star) on the hook for 55 mil over 6 years?
Fri Nov 12, 2010 5:46 pm
Exactly. Should be a lot tougher to move Haywood later. Dirk doesn't have many years left too. 1st 2nd round exits again or try something new. I just don't think losing Hay would turn out to be a big risk.
Anyways, he isn't going to be traded anytime soon. And like you said, it's too early...

Trade Haywood? What's the backup plan then if Chandler gets injured? Play Jose Barea at C?

They have Mahinimi
Sat Nov 13, 2010 12:38 pm
Who?
Exactly.

He's a no name center from France.
Nuff said

Despite Barea having a good game. I can't stand him playing.

17 points and 29 rebounds is holy.

Hope the Mavericks beat New Orleans tomorrow. Go Mavs!

If you ask to me, New Orleans will WIN again. But Dallas is able to win too. Haywood was great.
Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:19 am
NO will lose.....
Tue Nov 16, 2010 11:09 am
Mavs should put an end to NO's streak. I really hope so.
Tue Nov 16, 2010 2:50 pm
Mavs ended NO's winning streak.
Tue Nov 16, 2010 6:08 pm
Mavs have been surprisingly good so far.
Wed Nov 17, 2010 12:01 pm
How? They always have a badass record during the regular season only to come up short in the playoffs.
How is surprising?
Wed Nov 17, 2010 12:17 pm
The Mavs are almost always among the best, they've just never been able to come through for a championship. I want this to change!!!

I hope the Mavs can turn that bad luck around and go to the Conference Finals and face the Lakers.
