what determines a player's ability to pro hop?

Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

what determines a player's ability to pro hop?

Postby RandomSurge on Fri Mar 12, 2004 10:25 am

I ask because I've been starting my own rosters from scratch...and when I play the spurs, they repeatedly give Tim Duncan the ball out on the perimeter and he takes one huge hop that nobody can stop close to the rim and scores basically every time

I don't even remember ever seeing timmy hop...let alone from the perimeter

is it the quickness rating? or a combination of the players height, weight, and a bunch of ratings? I just want to stop td from using the pro hop, that's all

I don't know........................ but i know the pro-hop is what kills this game.

When you find out, please leave the info, so i can put everyone's down to 0! Then try to loosen the defense so you can take a shot without some always in your shirt, and raise the speed so the faster players can get by others without the need for pro-hopping.

Then the game will be perfect.

from what i've heard, it has something to do with the height and weightof the players thats why big men usually cant do the prohop

I don't know either, but I'll make my comment on the pro-hop. It's a great feature, one of my favorite new additions to Live, but it badly needs some tweaking the next version of the game.

If you want to get around players without the constant bumping and having to resort to using the hop, just turn down on ball physical defense

for both the user and the cpu of course..don't cheat :)

yeah I turned down dribbling from 51 to 47 (46 would work too, 45 is too low, he can handle the rock, I tested at 45 and he lost it too easily)....and now he can't hop

thanks for your help

The player's dunkpackage determines if they prohop or not.
