Not feeling the 2k11 Control system at all!!

Postby heat23q on Tue Oct 05, 2010 10:38 pm

Hey all, some of you may have noticed 2k brought out a new controlling system for 2k11,it sure does suck, been trying to play myplayer mode with these new controls, and its very annoying, any way we could get the 2k10 controls working on 2k11.....

This should probably go in impressions thread.

As for comments, I'm a bit surprised as I felt 2k10's controls were the worst the series have ever had. I'm enjoying 2k11's a lot more, even though there is still a lot for me to learn.

Doesn't the game have the option to select a controller config to have the spin and crossover face button?

And what about the single tap Iso-Motion buttons in Clutch and Turbo, are they gone as well?

You would of thought it would have, but 2k must of been in another world when they got rid of a simple option to say the least.

Which I think is a good thing. Games like these do really require controllers and somehow the game is designed for IsoMotion to be fully-implemented.

Yup. No more spamming those Iso-Motion face buttons.

Damn, this means I have to get a controller to fully utilize all controls. In 2k10, i could use the keyboard for a lot of isomotion moves that worked well. By the way, what does the left and right stick do for the keyboard config options? Does anyone have a suggestion for a good and cheap controller that works? I know the 360 controller might be the best option but I think it's $60 bucks or something.

wired controllers should be ~$30. the wireless ones are up there in price, require batteries, and a $20 adapter to work on the computer, whereas the wired one you just plug in and play.

check ebay or goto gamestop and get a used one.

this guy is trippen i mean yeah its new its a bit difficult at first but after you get used to it (Y) I love this new control system
so many more options now and if you want to do someones signature move you don't have to wait and get lucky to do it you can do
it when you want or when you feel its the right time but like it said at first its a bit tricky, but take it from me you guys you will fall in love with it :cheeky:

I think it would've been better to have the option for people who aren't familiar with or fans of Isomotion but since it's not in the game, seems I'll just to have to get used to it. I don't think it'll ever be my preferred control method but I don't find it quite as awkward as I used to. Still a long way from mastering it though.

What the Czar's latest video on movement. Don't always press the stick all the way, walk and jog, change speeds and directions. Watch his video, do what he suggests, see how the controls feel.

Yeah I watched that earlier today and tried to keep the slight movements/feathering in mind. It's certainly helped, seems a bit better on my PC gamepad compared to the 360 controller as well.

As he suggests try practicing it on Pro until you're very good with it.

Then go back to whatever mode you normally play.

It's satisfying to break a double team with a little jog one way then hard break the other when the defenders react.

I'm keeping that in mind too but by my third game I was starting to get a better handle on it, so I'll leave the settings alone for the moment.

I actually have nearly stopped using isomotion completely, instead I've been using the Size Up moves (LT + a direction on the left stick) with a blow by (while sizing up, change direction and hit turbo and left go of LT) and then a Signature Gather.

that's what i also do, its seems like it just creates enough space to gather something up (Y)
