Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Released: Impressions

Players jump into the passing lane way too much. I've also had a couple of occasions where the guy I'm guarding attempts a jumpshot, and another player comes over to contest it leaving someone open for the rebound.

This demo is quite good, although very toned down.

I played one quarter of the elite demo before deleting it off my ps3... RUBBISH!

I really can't get past how fluent and smooth this game is. The animations are brilliant, you have to use skills to get past your defender, not just a turbo button.

The invisible boundary is gone  I blocked rondo out of court it felt so good!

I like the way that the camera shoots to the crowd when you get on a big run, i would imagine in the full game that the opposition calls a timeout after this cut scene.

Signature moves and jumpshots are so close to perfect, I exceptionally like Kobe's mid range shots and also the difference between pierces 3 ball and mid range.

I don't know if many people have noticed, but man this game is really gonna depend on the PG's. Rondo controls the game if you decide not to. You will have to use your PG effectively to control a game!

Two things that deserve many    are the fact that defender's can't cheese in the back court anymore trying to pick the ball (yes i tried it, for test purposes), and no longer can you or the CPU throw silly backdoor passes constantly. Now if you try it the defender will just pick the ball. I love it and I really think that 2k is pushing us to use plays to score the ball rather than run and gun cheesing, and this will make online soooo much better.

Overall i really enjoyed the demo and that teamed up with the videos we have seen recently, I cannot wait to take the Wizards to meet Obama (Y)

Why was there a dunking noise on the off the board alley layup?

I wasn't too impressed by the NBA 2K10 demo and like most people I felt the NBA 2K11 demo was lacking too, but liked the full version of NBA 2K10 much more and expect the same of NBA 2K11. There is a bit of arrogance in throwing out such a stripped down demo but as I longtime NBA Live fan I have to admit that 2K does deliver. I'm never going to be completely enamoured with Isomotion though.

This is probably the most legit and true comment posted about the 2K Series! Very very good point dude! (Y) :applaud:

The alley-oop layup wasn't that pretty, which kind of works because it plays out like the lob went awry and Kobe recovered anyway, but even so it was a bit awkward. Still cool nevertheless.

Amazing detail on the second video of course, but I hope Pro difficulty isn't the default setting online, otherwise I can see people spamming with spin-spin-spin combos.

didn't really enjoy the demo at all, it was way to short and very stripped down.( i've played it about five times now )
if someone that was a fan of a different nba game franchise had tried this demo, they would walk away very unimpressed.
2k, a demo is suppose to excite players or even convert some players from a different franchise to your products.
you put out a lame, stripped down teaser. That said, i know that the full version will be amazing as always(minus the bugs).

How do you back down your defender on the low post? Also, how do you pivot (before you dribble/after you pick up your dribble?).

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Released: Impressions

Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:15 am

back down is LT + RT. Hold LT for pivoting.

Thanks Jon. Hopefully now I can abuse Ray Allen on the low post with Kobe.

I think this year's demo was fantastic all around. Even though there wasn't announcing or play-calling I felt it was a great, smooth, fun game to play.

Played a few games of the demo, then 2K10. Don't know how I ever played so much of that piece of shit. The demo is leaps and bounds better. The CPU actually plays defense!

Didn't play full version of 2K10, but I did play its demo. I literally pwned the Lakers with Vince Carter, had a baseline dunk almost every possession.

Yeah, even with upgraded sliders, that's what the game is like. DeMar DeRozan is a superstar in all the games I play. 2K10 is such a joke. (N)

Agreed. I haven't actually played against the CPU since they released the last patch, which resulted in big men shooting & killing my Bucks' Association. When was that? Either way, a long time
