Offensive Rating: 103 (Ilyasova: 102; Team: 103.1)
Defensive Win Shares: 3.0 in 1866 minutes (Ilyasova: 3.3 in 1895 minutes)
So he's almost as good as Ersan Ilyasova at defense.

I think so. He plays SF as well doesn't he?
Yes. That is his main position.

If you want to go 100% off defensive win shares then yeah. I hate these composite stats.

The point is that Moute is a good defender, but he isn't necessarily elite. Defensive composite stats may be imperfect, but its the only objective way to measure a player's performance. It appears he is a solid defender who is a product of Skiles' excellent defensive system.

He could be the only one still watching Pistons games, so his opinion could prove to be a pretty solid estimation.
I don't think he's bad at all, even at this point with his bad back, it's just inflated a little bit. I have always thought his performance against McGrady in the 2003 Playoffs and his block on Reggie Miller in the 04 ECF kind of fueled that fire.
At his best he did a great job versus pure scorers, but against a scorer who could also make plays for others, he wasn't as elite as the talking heads made him out to be. He was horrible last year on D, but that can be attributed to his injury still.
He's honestly still a super valuable piece on a title contender.

Elaborate.

I'm not sure why you would ever think DRtg and DWS are the only ways to measure individual defense.

Artest, Wallace. But I'm also picking Shane Battier.
