Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I downloaded and installed Quicktime to view one file on my computer, and have since deleted it because it's Apple and therefore fucking sucks ass.
Unfortunately, viewing that one file was enough for it to screw around with my computer settings, and now I want it back how it was.
When I download Mp3s (clicking on a link to download, such as with a podcast), it used to go straight to downloading. Now, it opens up a new tab and tries to play the song in that tab.
I have since associated foobar with all music files, which has stopped any Quicktime notices coming up (used to have a dialogue box whinging at me saying I needed quicktime to play the song) but it still doesn't download the songs.
I can still right click -> save link as, but this takes valuable seconds off my day which I need for porn - so I would like the old setting back.
Anyone have any experience with fixing this?

What browser? You have to go in and tell it not to open the files but instead prompt.

Tools > Options, and in the Downloads box > "Always ask me where to save files".

Actually, that doesn't necessarily work as it can be overridden, what you usually want to do is go to the Options then the Applications tab, and you can change what happens for the various file types so go down to MP3 and then there tell it to always ask, or always just save or whatever.
