Durant seems to be fitting in just fine, picking up where Melo left off.

@ OKC :shake: . How can you trade away the greatness that is  Stanley Alston  ?

Good to see Durant fitting in well. T-Mac 2.0 has been quiet throughout the season, but excellent to see he still has it. (Y)

Yeah, sometimes he does that. I have to remind myself that he's actually the reigning MVP of this story at the moment. If he could put together a solid month or two leading to the playoffs, he could be in the discussions again.

Thierry. wrote:T-Mac 2.0 is back. Also great to see KD with 50+.

It's kind of hard to keep T-Mac 2.0 in the side because he really has turned out to be a garbage shooter and I like my perimeter players to be good shooters. Who knows, I might feature him a couple more times before this season has ended atleast.

King Dee wrote:aw. OKC just traded their franchise player (N) I don't really like that trade. anyway, where's Ty?

Houndy66 wrote:Yeah, what happened to T Mac and Tys careers. Durant killed for ya (Y)

Ty's game really fell away during the simulated seasons. He had an overall of 59 when I left him go to free agency and NBA Live games have a tendency of having players completely disappear from the free agent pool (for example, in my second season I wanted Nathan Jawai and Yakhouba Diawara as IR guys, but they had disappeared). It kind of sucks because I really liked what he added to the story, but I guess that's how the game goes. I always prefer to say that he went off to Europe though ;)

As for T-Mac, his career has turned out more like Adam Morrison's... only he had one season where he was the guy that reached his potential. He has a really awkward shot release that I still can't time perfectly and even when I think I have got it down, he's still not a crash hot shooter. I could probably turn him into a defensive stopper, but my system kind of relies on perimeter scorers.

Andrew wrote:Durant seems to be fitting in just fine, picking up where Melo left off.

Durantula can be absolutely nuts to control. His mid-range game probably isn't as strong as Melo's, but he makes up for that with his long range and driving game I think.

It's a trade that doesn't make any sense to me either. Unlike Melo, Alston is actually going to a team that's currently not in playoff contention, and as good as Luther Rutherford is, there's no way I'd make that trade. It's probably a conspiracy in the game where they need to make the Lakers competitive

Durant has been a lot of fun to control and as for T-Mac 2.0, he's way too inconsistent to give a regular spot to. At the moment, he's probably a poor man's Garth Vine.

All-Star Weekend Selection

Denver will have two players in the All-Star game with Kevin Durant and J.R. Smith named on the bench. Both players are former MVPs of the game, but were beaten in the polls by LeBron James and Stanley Alston.

There will be no doubt that George Karl will be watching this game closely as he would also be unsure about Denver's future Power Forward.

This is a kind of trade I go back and fix in my dynasties. I one time had to fix a Joe Johnson for LBJ trade. :shake: Anyways, do whatever you want. :)

Despite Alston being on the Lakers, he's still greatness. Sucks that he actually beat Smith for the starting role on the All-Star West team. (N) It'll be interesting to see how Perko and Power match up. Can't wait for the recaps. :)

That's what I'm hoping for. My general game plan revolves around my two wing guys scoring at tandem. Generally I use my big guys for the defensive work and the point guard is the glue. It can tend to vary every now and then depending who's hot, but that's Plan A usually.

Well, they were ousted by two of this year's leading MVP candidates (LBJ and the greatness that is Stanley Alston) so it didn't come as a surprise to me at all. There is amazing depth in the West as far as the 3 position is concerned in particular, since Melo was snubbed in this one.

The Rookie Challenge will be up next :)

Andrew wrote:Good to see you well-represented at the Weekend. (Y)

I'm really happy with the representation I got. It will be enough to keep me interested in both games.

Houndy wrote:Cmon Power, show Perko who's boss

That's definitely the most interesting part of the whole weekend for me.

As far as taking favourites... it's way too hard. Both players to me are equally as epic.

The thought came to my mind about vetoing that trade, but in a sense, I like these kind of glitchy things that happen. If the computer wants to shoot itself in the foot like that, then all I can do is hope they can do something to fix it in NBA Elite 11.

I don't mind Smith being a reserve to Alston. I think no matter where the players are, I try to distribute the minutes evenly on ASW.

Aw, no love for Andris?

It was an interesting selection to me as well, but I tend to like the unlikely all-stars. Remember; Tyler Hansbrough is a former All-Star MVP in this dynasty ;)

Having two players in the rookie challenge is definitely a great achievement I think. It proves the depth I have at the power forward position since they're both starting. It'll be a fun game... I might have to switch between sides.

All-Star Weekend: The Rookie Challenge

Sophomores outlast Rookies

Image

Despite a spirited effort from Pacers rookie Austin Nolan, the Sophomores beat the Rookies 88-83. It looked like the Sophomores were going to win in a blowout as enforcer George Power was controversially fouled out in the 3rd quarter. Caleb Jackman (29) and eventually MVP winner Igor Martin (26) were dominant throughout the game. Even though Power scored 15 points and had 7 rebounds, he was troubled by Martin as his early ejection would suggest. Reigning MVP and ROY winner Hobbes MacDonald was also influential with 18 points of his own.

For the Rookies, Austin Nolan was the high point man with 31 points. GeorgePower dominated his teammate Borislav Perko early on, but when Igor Martin was injected off the bench, the complexion of the game completely changed. As mentioned, he had 15 points in 3 quarters as he fouled out well before the game ended. Archibald Sheehan registered the only double-double of the night with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

----------------------------------

ROOKIES VS SOPHOMORES

SOPHOMORES: 88 (Jackman 29, Martin 26, MacDonald 18)
ROOKIES: 83 (Nolan 31, Power 15, Sheehan 10)

Rookie Challenge MVP: Igor Nolan [CHI] 26 points 9 rebounds 2 assists 2 blocks

Rebounds

SOPHOMORES: Garcia 16
ROOKIES: Sheehan 10

Assists

SOPHOMORES: Jackman 4
ROOKIES: Nolan 7

----------------------------------

The Denver Contingent

Image
George Power: 15 points 7 rebounds 4 assists 2 blocks (but unfortunately, 6 fouls)

Image
Borislav Perko: 2 points 4 rebounds 1 assist

----------------------------------

Anyone else notice what jersey number Igor Martin is wearing? Complete sacralidge right Andrew? I don't like him... although the expression on his face is priceless

Next up will be the All-Star game

All joking aside, sucks to see Power foul out, but still, he had a solid game. (Y) Perko was pretty quiet though.
