Do not use Moddingway.com !!

For the second time in a week, I've contracted a virus using this site. The virus uses a security suite as a hoax. This is B_ll Shit that you can't visit a site without worrying about infecting your computer. Modders should seriously consider, not up-loading their files to this site until they get it corrected. That's how it infected my computer, downloading files. I have a good anti-virus program and still got infected. Giving out a heads-up, don't use this site.

You restored your computer after it was infected? Never heard of that, If it would save me $70.00 bones to get it fixed, I'm all for it.
Are you sure it worked correctly after that? Only thing is it has corrupted all my files, and I can't open any of them or log on to the internet.

The virus I had was a fake antimalware who was installed in my pc I had this problem for two times,,,and it always work for me,,,but you dont lose nothing for try it

Look, you can do as you please. The people that run that site might not even know about it. Just sayin to be careful when you surf that site. I would leave them a msg, but I don't want to open it again for fear of another virus, so i deleted it from my favorites list. I'll get my files someplace else, 2 times infected is enough for me.

use malwarebytes.. so you can surf at their site with caution... even anti virus cant detect sometimes

umm this is nothin new to me,
my anti virus software detects intrusion attacks for that damn sites.
i have never gone back there anymore
and i'm pretty sure the site administrators/creators have knowledge of their "problems."

Modders don't upload files to moddingway, moddingway reupload them themselves

How did you know it was from that site? Was it in the program you downloaded or did some pop-up ad install something?

Adblock plus, no-script, adaware, malware bytes, a good firewall, and anti-virus and this should never happen.

If you could let us know which files you have downloaded it will be fine so we can check.
Anyone can check our website with online antivirus scanners and they will find our site is virus free.
We don´t have any intention as someone suggested to harm visitors.
We have 20000 visitors a day and we offer direct link to files ( no strange script or anything else ) just save as or click and ready.
We will rescan all files since that´s what we do with every file we upload.

ive had no problems and i got everything pdub's mentions :p.. and when ever i get a virus i have no idea exactly where its come from..

Both times it happened, I just clicked on the site, then a msg came up that said it is not recommended to use this site, it's potentially dangerous for virus infections, or something to that effect. I forgot the exact wording. Right after that happened, I noticed this security symbol in the lower right hand corner that would not let me close it. I then tried to log on to the internet and a msg said a virus had infected the file to open it. and this continued for my e-mail and other files. I didn't even d/ld any files, it happened just logging on to moddingway.com. That was last week. I went there again on Sat, just clicked on the site and the virus posed as a security suite came again. Now my computer has to go back to the shop and get it removed again!! That's how I know it was your site. 2 times visited, 2 times infected. I'm just saying, I like your site, haven't had any problems getting files until now, but until you correct this and make it safe, I'll get my files elsewhere, I can't afford $70.00 a pop to keep getting this removed.
I can't speak for everybody else, but this site has infected my computer.

sounds like that security tool virus back door Trojan. Download Anti Malwarebytes on another computer and transfer the exe onto the infected computer. and rename the install exe to explorer im pretty sure. and try running it. If this doesnt make sense just go to google and type in security tool virus im pretty sure.

Thx for the advice Flamin, but I'll just take it back to the shop tomorrow and have it removed. They'll remove it for free if it gets re-infected within 30 days. Besides, I don't know anything about transferring files from computer to computer anyway.

I have a USB, and a internal HD, not external.

and your currently on another computer?? all you need to do is download the malwarebytes install .exe and put it on your usb then install it on your other computer

Ok thx, but it's highly unlikely that will remove the virus, it's already infected, but i'll d/ld the program after it gets out the shop. Thx for heads-up.
