great... i see the same crappy generic CF's. same hairstyles even, looks like we will be seeing even more deformed people and generic cousins in the game this year.

Did they say they secured the likeness rights for everyone or pretty much everyone (or words to that effect)? If it's the latter, I'd say the generic faces on the classic teams are out of necessity to avoid lawsuits.

if the players association was smart they would allow anyone to put the retired players faces into the game and thus earn a small royalty for each player. would help out a few players that are broke. a thousand bucks would be a great blessing for the guy featured in that article a few weeks back who is living in his car!

I don't think all retired players would go for that; to use an NFL example, look at the lawsuit that Jim Brown fired over a placeholder legend in Madden he felt was just a bit too similar to the likeness he'd refused to sign over. Not all former NBA players are members of the Retired Players Union either and you can't force them to be. I agree it would help, but the reason it's not happening is not for a lack of intelligence or vision on the part of the union, there are a few more factors than that.

Will we be able to play as Jordan or use any of the Classic Teams in Quick Play mode? Or the other gameplay modes as well?

Yes.

Hopefully, there wont be any generic players in the finished product.....
i just hope that its just an early build.....
hopefully they would improve the rosters of the historic teams or should i say make it more accurate especially the historic bulls teams.....
lets just see how it turns out at the finished product by the time the game is released.....

As I mentioned in the other thread, it's quite likely issues with likeness rights have forced them to use generic appearances for some of the bench players.

i guess you're right
no wonder they used generic players in the roster
i finally understand now
even with the generic players in the roster
hopefull the game would still turn out to be great by the time the game releases

I'm sure it'll just be a couple of bench players, the trailers and the like have shown that the big names and key role players are accurately represented.

you're right about that
we'll just see how it turns out

What I don't like about the mode is that in the build a career, Jordan starts at 79 overall. Does that include awesome driving and dunking abilities? If it were just poorer outside shooting that would be OK. But starting Jordan as less than a superstar isn't accurate to Jordan.

his physical attributes would be there like his athleticism and his highflying abilities like his dunks are there. and from the start he wasnt much good of an outside shooter. as well as his good defensive play and his killer instinct in taking clutch shots or the game winning shots. but as he progresses thats when he starts to develop his outside shooting, lockdown defense, and especially his ability to take clutch shots. what he is lacking when he starts as a rookie, its up to you or to the people to develop it like they give you some room for improvement when you earn skill points to increase his stats.

I agree. I'd also disagree with 2K's take on his clutch abilities early in his career, as they've mentioned them as being low. Probably nothing that can't be fixed on the PC version though.
