Batista is interested in signing with StrikeForce. This should be fun if they host Batista vs Leshley. Anyways, I seriously doubt him to be successful in MMA, especially at his age.

Fedor Emelianenko suffered his first true loss on June 26, 2010 against Fabricio Werdum. After knocking Werdum down early in the first round, Emelianenko went in for the kill, but Werdum secured a deep triangle and an armbar from his guard, and Fedor was forced to tap.
Wow!

Fraudor.

What's disappointing here is that the loss came this soon against Werdum who has failed horribly in UFC. If it was against Overeem, then it'd have been a different story, but this just is just bad for the StrikeForce and Fedor.

Jumped right in the guard of arguably the best heavyweight bjj guy in the world, not the smartest move. Werdum is very underrated imo though. He was in the title hunt in the UFC until Dos Santos ko'd him. Werdum was a massive favorite in that fight. He also beaten Overeem before in Pride.

Overeem was not big then. He was horrible when he was in lighter weight class as he forced diet too much. Now he's at his natural weight where he's more comfortable using his true power.
Werdum of course was underrated, but still a shocker.

BROCK WAS JUST AWESOME AND SO WAS CARWIN. THE BEST MAIN EVENT IN AWHILE. NOTHING SHORT OF SPECTACULAR.
I gave an edge to Carwin for having more experience and it showed in the first round. Brock seemed to have no answer for his punching techniques, and when he was down, he just didn't know how to get back up.
Some sick points in the game were... 1) Carwin defending Brock's takedown earlier in the first round. Brock came at full force yet failed to take him down. 2) How the referee didn't stop the game while Brock was helpless on the ground. Brock fighting back just once in awhile prevented the fight from being stopped. 3) Even with all that pounding and owning, Shane got tired as much as Brock. Just goes to show what kind of a monster Brock is, being able to take heavy hits yet comes out so strong. 4) Brock smiling when coming out from his corner at the start of round 2 just was sick. Shane smiled back but looked surprised(or even scared) to be seeing Brock all that confident after taking such beating. 5) How Carwin got taken down helplessly. Brock just overpowered with his large shoulder to wrap around Shane's neck and arm. I didn't expect Shane to get back up in that round but didn't think Brock had in him to finish the fight there. The guy actually improved big time, making it look so smooth. Simply one of the best comeback in the history of UFC.
Meanwhile, Akiyama fight was one of the worst. Having seen him from the Pride days, just was disappointed.

The only thing missing from that awesome fight was an awesome post fight interview from Brock (see win against Mir) which I have grown to like.

That was amazing, I loved the card from start to finish. I thought Brock was fucked in the first round, Carwin was absolutely destroying him. I loved the refereeing aswell, Brock was still defending himself and as he said every punch was hurting less and less so he knew Carwin would get tired. Stunned that he won by an arm triangle, my brother goes "he's trying to set up an arm triangle" I said "do you think he even knows what one is?"... apparently he does.
Great effort from Leben and Georgie Sotiropoulos too.

Seems like I'm proven wrong on Brock with his talent. I had my shares of doubts because of lack of experience. Right now, I'm convinced he's the best in the world undoubtedly. Dos Santos and Cain are still in the line up waiting for the big shot against Brock, but honestly, I'd rather see a rematch.
Just fucking sad UFC won't work with SF to make Overeem VS Brock happen.

Couture just got his black belt for submitting James Toney. That's like getting your PhD for aceing a 5th grade spelling test.
He didnt even get a punch in
Sun Aug 29, 2010 8:00 pm
LOL @ him getting his black belt for that. Isn't Toney a white belt? My little brother has a yellow belt ffs, I could probably submit Toney.
Sun Aug 29, 2010 11:18 pm
Best of luck Jae.
Very disappointed....I wanted him to win so more boxers would crossover to MMA....but I guess I'll wait for Lashley vs Batista
Sun Aug 29, 2010 11:32 pm
What's his boxing got to do with his jiu jitsu skills? I guess one thing he's got going for him is that he's already moderately retarded so any shots to the head he takes from here aren't really going to do a great deal of damage.
Mon Aug 30, 2010 12:08 am
I'm just really surprised he didnt try punching at all when they were feeling each other out at the beginning....
Mon Aug 30, 2010 3:56 am
Toney is a fat ass.. he sucks..

He was standing sideways the whole time, looked like he was getting ready for a dead-arm war or something.

I don't think it was a bjj black belt. It was for some sort of submission/catch wrestling system.

Made $100 on Cain tonight. Happy Brocktober.
Sun Oct 24, 2010 8:23 pm

who thinks Koscheck is gonna take out GSP? i think it'll be a lot closer than last time, but i feel like GSP is too good. i wish i was a fan of mma before he was champion because i would be a big GSP fan
Sat Dec 11, 2010 11:49 pm
I'm so torn about it. I really like Koscheck but he was such a cunt in TUF and GSP came across really well. I'll be happy either way, Kos is a bad ass so if he wins then great. He's also a prick so if he loses then great.
