Talk about NBA 2K11 here.

FlashLooks a lot better IMO. Players run more realistic/heavier and seem to have more control.
didnt care for that 1 handed pass or the Wade turnover though

Love the help D by the cpu controlled Dirk at 1:20-ish. I'll stop him from driving by turning me back and then stop the direction of his pro hop by going away from the basket. Also, the passing lane defense at 1:40. Staring right at the ball, actually moves into the passing lane during the pass, but doesn't make a play on the ball. I'm willing to bet you can get easy inside buckets from driving and dishing and pick and rolls again.
I'm taking it with a grain of salt. It was probably played on pro or rookie. Obviously the guy controling the Mavs was spamming the steal and double team button, which may have caused his cpu teammates to bug out.
Commentary sounds improved, presentation looks a little better. Hard to tell from this video, though.

hola..!! ofcourse this is it!...weeepss... yah more realistic in dribbling and the dunk more realistic also when taking off..

Well, after what i had with 2k9 and 2k10, i wasn't even excited when they told that Jordan will be in the game.
The game plays on its own, you just press the button move the stick let the animation triggers while expecting it to be something good, no defense whatsoever, all those cuts to basket are being just ignored again by ai from what i see, and how about the passes in this game, grrrr..
Lots of people complained how Artest can dunk like that in elite when they saw an early footage, how bout Haywood's moving right through to the rim and dunking? So unrealistic.
Please don't think i'm writing this to bash the game, but what i have gotten in the last 2 years from both games was dissapointing, and seeing 2k continue the same way as it was, no no. There is no point using Jordan in this game with this engine for some canned, mo-capped animations to be triggered and i just press the button without feeling it.

^Very good post. Somebody had to say it.
I've got this feeling the past couple years that some people play 2K by "default" because Live has been pretty bad at improving their flaws and fixing bugs. Don't get me wrong, 2k bball has definitely been better for at least the past 4 titles, and fun to play. Both games definitely have their flaws, but I think we all have incredible expectations for these games. After 20+ years of creating basketball games, you would think somebody would have gotten it down by now.
I have always countered the game "playing on it's own" with it's long animations by turning the game speed and player speed up to about 74. It plays a bit faster than real life, but I feel it gives me a bit more control since the animations don't last as long since game speed increases the speed of every animation, including the ball.

i am a nba live fan, been an nba live fan the last 11 years. but i gotta say when i first turned on the video i thought i was watching a real game. the white guys look so real i really thought that was a game from TV. but im still gonna get nba elite 11 haha. but congrats to 2k11 graphics becasue those are almost as close to reality as it gets. wow.

The new jerseys look awful.. The numbers are oversized and letters are way to small
From the gameplay point of view, it still looks a bit arcade offensively- just hit the sprint button and you will blow by everyone then dunk it, even with dampier.
I like the new scoreboard, though ;0]

I hope they were playing Default or Casual settings in that demo.
Thu Aug 19, 2010 8:31 am
evidently (from OS)
1. This is a demo of an unfinished product
2. The Gamerstyle is confirmed to be on casual
3. The default setting for pretty much every 2K game has been pro; if this is on default as confirmed, there is no reason to assume this video is on any other level
4. There is a human player involved, hell bent on double teaming every possession and getting to the rim at all costs.

2k Looks the Same, and plays the same, the Graphics are crazy tho, I can't lie, but it looks like 2k8 with better Graphics. I wish they would change the passing animation also. They changed the dribbling, looks A LOT BETTER!!! I gotta get my hands on this game, I didn't see any defense in the clips. . . Maybe I'm over Analyzing lol
Brendan Haywood ripped D-Wade LOL

I agree with you on the letters but the Numbers back then were bigger bro alot bigger than now i actually was hoping they would figure that out

That video pretty much confirms that the casual gamestyle is not for me. I also agree with ataman5 in regards to Haywood's dunk and while people have been ripping NBA Elite 11's collisions in their quick clips, NBA 2K11 doesn't seem much better in that regard. Still, if this footage shows a work in progress then I'm definitely taking it with a grain of salt and I wouldn't say it looks terrible or anything. I should hopefully find it fun to play on more realistic settings and harder difficulty.

Nice authentic Jordan jersey, there.
Your right about the names on the jerseys, though. They have been like that for a while. I am surprised patchers haven't fixed any of them yet.
Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:27 am
wow wtf sports videogame of the year.... common guys its just only a demo no offense, you must understand that there fixing some concerned and major areas that have been annoying to the fans and gamers and also it is not a full build yet so must wait for the complete build to finish
Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:41 am
People are trashing the NBA Elite 11 clips and they're work-in-progress too; shouldn't the same standard apply to both games? Everyone's just calling it as they see it for both titles, as it should be.

At this point only one basketball game can be even considered for GotY. NBA Jam

That gamestyle seems fun if you like to dunk a lot. looks like they added a new sideline reporter too. The new presentation is nice

2k11 IMO looks worse, first of all LeBron has a beard not an aftershave, he looks like he did in NBA 2k8 and D-Wade also looks worse. Lebron and Wade are downgrades on graphics this year. The Same Canned animations and gameplay is ok though, I'm not a Live/Elite fanboy, because I will give NBA 2k11 a try but, im not that impressed.

THey still have those ugly hook shots that a player like Dirk would never do 8 feet away from the basket. I hate those one handed shots that go in way too often considering their grad of difficulty.
Fri Aug 20, 2010 9:41 am
Lovin' the intro to the game but where's the bus? Or are they still working on it?
Fri Aug 20, 2010 9:53 am
Thanks for the heads up, mrtcnk_.
Fri Aug 20, 2010 3:49 pm
Didn't watch all those videos, but the first video from mrtcnk showed off a little bit more of the improved man defense. Notice at 0:20ish in the first vid, how the defender is kinda side shifting his feet or w.e, I like it.
Everything else I really don't want to see, as watching the first video kind of made me dissapointed. I understand it's on a different setting, and obviously is a W.I.P., but seeing the same crap pass animations and hook shots, poor lane defense, things that for the most part, aren't going to be affected by game settings or difficulty (other than maybe lane defense or passing lanes)... after all these years, it's really gotten annoying, and to be honest it's become difficult to impress me in sports games lately after realising I still like Madden 2006 better than 2011, and NBA Live 2005 better than 2009 (last one I played).
I don't think this is going to be a day one purchase as it has been for the past 4 years.
Biggest things keeping NBA2K from being the best sports simulation are:
- Late game AI - which is supposedly been worked on
- Lack of control - I've never really found this to be that big of a deal, I like the strategy and what not more than seeing my player pull off a dope ass double crossover spin move tomahawk dunk yo, again supposedly worked on
- PASSING - Of all the thousands of animation in 2k, the passing needs to be worked on the most, dumb overhead passes from ten feet away, cross court passes with precision accuracy, passes that go right by a defenders head. This area is HUGELY underated in my opinion, this leads to many balancing issues, strategic issues, as well as cosmetic issues. Dishing it off when in trouble makes offense too easy, and defense frustrating especially on the harder difficulties in past games. This also affects how easy it is to score in the paint as in real life half the trouble is getting the ball into the paint. I could go on much more about this area but I'll give you guys a break.
- Overall polish and little things in Franchise and My Player - Things like adjusting quarter length, stupid (and repetitive) A.I. trades, the dumb and sometimes impossible training camp or monthly drills or challenges, the skill points you aquire at the end of the year, just some really stupid things that seem rushed or thrown in at the last minute.
There's obviously never going to be a perfect game, but I really am amazed I keep buying this game when something as basic and fundamental as passing cannot be improved or corrected. Meanwhile nearly every year some dumb improvement such as better footplanting physics gets mentioned or worked on. I understand advertising, making your product appeal to the larger market, but these are things everybody wants, not just panzee ass things like more shoes or celebration animations.
OOOOOOooooo better introduction presentation, now instead of just playing 30-40 full length games in my franchise, realizing this game is once again very mediocre, and stop playing it just 4 months after purchasing it, I will play it year round right up until the release of 2k12! JOY
There's my rant, hope I don't feel suckered after buying this game.
Fri Aug 20, 2010 11:51 pm
I liked almost all 2k's new passing, jumping, presentation it looks very realistic.. and especially micheal jordan.
