He actually didn't tweak anything, that would imply cracking down the game's code and programming. I talked to him today, it's just one of the games jumpshots (Ty Thomas).

What makes us see it differently is:

1. MJ is shooting it...

2. He's pressing and holding the shoot button longer (all are slightly late releases) and this adds to the player's hang time while shooting and thus gives you a visual effect of a higher release.
