http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nba/news/story?id=5453540It looks like Rasheed Wallace is going to retire after all. The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that they have waived Wallace after coming to a mutual agreement under which Wallace plans to retire.
"We would like to thank Rasheed for everything that he did for this team and organization last season," said Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge. "We would like to wish Rasheed and his family the best as they move on into the next phase of their lives. He will always be a member of the Celtics family."
Wallace, a center/forward and 15-year pro, averaged 9.0 points and 4.1 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game last season, his first with Boston. Wallace was set to earn $13 million over the final two years of a three-year deal he inked with Boston last offseason, but he told coach Doc Rivers before Game 7 of the NBA Finals that it would likely be his last game.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO
meh, alright

And Bill Simmons rejoiced at the news.

Too bad he couldn't retire a champion.

He got a ring in Detroit though. All in all, he's had a pretty good career.

He wasn't perfect, but I'll really miss the trash talking, pot-smoking foo'.

I wished he would have retired as a piston

No one gets the referee's whistle for a technical better than Sheed.

Sad to see him gone. He was one hell of a character whom I enjoyed watching.
I wonder if the Celtics will miss his outside shooting ability.

They did last year and he was actually on the roster.

Bring back Sheed as a commentator! Preferably partnered with Gary Payton.

love the idea

I liked to watch Sheed's antics and silly faces during the NBA Finals. He put in a pretty good effort in his last game ever as well.

still wish we could have traded him instead but oh well

He could have been a HOFamer if he had more drive.

This.

And have him say "Ball Don't Lie".

That could be the name of their segment/show!
Maybe it could have a Crossfire format with Sheed and GP on opposing sides of NBA related news/topics. If they happen to agree on something they can just say "ball don't lie".
That's it. We need to contact Sheed or his agent.

The master of technical foul. Sheed never think that he should be issued a technical foul.

Gotta love this face:

and this:

Nobody beats Crawford's technicals on Duncan though. Nobody.

Joey Crawford's a dick.

I don't know, I think this call by Crawford beats those:
Especially since it's with 17 seconds to go in a 3 point game.
Thu Aug 12, 2010 7:03 am
Wow...
I think Crawford should've been issued a technical.
Thu Aug 12, 2010 9:55 am
That's probably more ridiculous than the calls in the 2006 Finals that have most people up in arms. At least those were soft calls which you'll see all the stars get from time to time, that contact was all Crawford.
Thu Aug 12, 2010 3:10 pm
It really did beat those. The most horrendous refereeing I've ever seen.
