Good for him. (Y)

Well, if the Heat really did make an offer to him and he chose China over Miami, it really goes to show what kind of person Marbury really is.

What kind of person does that make him? A person who takes less money to be happy playing in China instead of sitting on the bench of a championship team?

When did the Heat make him an offer?

I'm with Lamrock, good for him. He would seem to have burned a lot of bridges in the NBA but if he still wants to play and the opportunity is there for him in China, more power to him.

They probably threw out contract offers to everyone under the sun to come and get a title. I doubt Marbury saying yes would have guaranteed him a spot. Especially since he doesn't fit the team they're building.

That said, he's making the smarter business decision. Be a semi-star in China, let them pay everything to help you start a "brand" over there or return to a country where you're more famous for your justin.tv breakdown.

There were reports that Pat Riley was seeing if he was interested but didn't extend a formal offer. Marbury even said he was waiting for Miami to call back but it was reported that he said no initially. However, it doesn't matter because nothing really happened. I'm just merely conveying my opinion that he is an idiot (but we all knew that already!) who went to the CBA to try and play basketball again - hoping to make an impression that he can still play. Then when the NBA comes knocking, he didn't give it more than a few seconds thought.

Yeah, I see the rationality of his move. If he's got to do this, then he;'s got to do what he's got to do. :)
