Liverpool Football Club today confirmed the signing of Serbia international Milan Jovanovic.
The 29-year-old forward was one of Serbia's star performers at the World Cup, scoring the winner in a shock win over Germany. He penned a three-year deal at Melwood today before meeting some of his new teammates.
He said: "It is an honour for me to sign for one of the biggest clubs in football.
"I cannot wait to start working with the manager and I'm looking forward to joining up with my new teammates on our Swiss training camp."
Jovanovic spent the previous four years at Standard Liege, where he won Belgian Footballer of the Year in 2008 and the Golden Shoe in 2009.

Watched him play for Serbia and I'm really impressed and happy to have him aboard. :)

Liverpool FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Joe Cole on a four-year deal.
The England midfielder has agreed personal terms with the Reds and will undergo a medical in the next 48 hours.
Cole becomes the club's second signing of the summer after Milan Jovanovic.
The 28-year-old arrives from Chelsea, where he won three league titles and two FA Cups during a seven-year spell.
He is a product of the West Ham youth system and has represented his country 56 times, scoring 10 goals in the process.

Great news. Beat Arsenal and Tottenham to him, even though they are in the Champions League and we're not this season.

OUTS:

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-n ... ns-chelsea
Liverpool have today completed the transfer of Yossi Benayoun to Chelsea Football Club.
The two clubs last month agreed an undisclosed fee for the player, who joined Liverpool from West Ham in 2007, and the deal has been confirmed this afternoon.
The 30-year-old Israeli international made 134 appearances and scored 29 goals during his three seasons with the Reds.
A Liverpool spokesman said: "Yossi's departure was agreed between the player and Rafael Benitez a number of weeks ago. Everybody at Liverpool FC wishes him well for the future."

I won't really miss him at all to be honest. His reason for this move could only be for the money.
What opportunities will he get at Chelsea that he wasn't getting at Liverpool? He will be lucky to make the bench.

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-n ... fee-agreed
Liverpool have today agreed a fee for the sale of Emiliano Insua to Serie A side Fiorentina.
The left-back is now en route to Italy to discuss personal terms.
A club spokesman said: "We have agreed a fee for the sale of Emiliano Insua to Fiorentina and given them permission to speak with the player.
"Emiliano has now left our Swiss training camp and we'll make further comment when appropriate."
Insua arrived in January 2007 from Boca Juniors and has since played 62 games, with one goal to his name against Arsenal in last season's Carling Cup.

Not sure why he is being sold considering Fabio Aurelio is leaving on a free and Andrea Dossena was sold in January.
We have no left backs. :(

Yep, gonna give you that one. :shake: There's talks about Fulham's Schwarzer, but he doesn't convince me. And too bad you beat us for Joe Cole's sign.

Schwarzer is a good keeper. But he is like 40.
Hugo Lloris from Lyon would be the best option. He's young, french and really good.

Gatusso is near to sign with Olympiakos. It's him or Marcos Sena , though he has the 1st place in the list. Also we won Besa from Albania 6-1,and passed on aggregate 11-1!

Real Madrid legend Raul to Schalke 04, apparently (I know you really can't trust on Goal.com, but it's on Spanish newspapers everywhere and its the only link in English I could find)... http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/87/germany/2010/07/18/2031475/felix-magath-raul-would-relish-the-challenge-of-playing-with

I thought he'd retire with Real.

Yeah it's true. He wants to play, not to be sitting on the bench but being the symbol of Real.

Obviously not, but they run same system, 3-4-3, as the All Whites did (but clearly not as defensive), which is not surprising since they have the same coach, Ricki Herbert.

Rather than for young talented players, they give more money for old players past....typical of Be$ikta$
