Good last game of the season. Grats to the Lakers and their fans here, especially Jackal, Sit and Dare.

I wouldn't go that far, it was pretty sloppy. It had its moments though.

Bummer deal. Was probably the best series of the year (sloppiness aside), but I hate seeing LA win. Gotta love Artest's postgame interview though.

Agreed but turned off the TV right away. Was too disgusted and frustrated to watch the postgame shit stuffz.

That was one of the most hard fought nba finals games i have ever seen. LA repeated so happy right now!!!!
Fri Jun 18, 2010 2:28 pm
LA rioting a little bit.

David Stern had to of told the officials to ref this game like it was 1992, right?
I really enjoyed that game actually. It was a shit show offensively, but the effort was there for both teams all game long and despite Kobe's shooting the Lakers found a way to get back into the game in the second half.
Celtics really only have their offense to blame in that fourth quarter. Never would I have thought that team would have reverted to jump shots with the game on the line. KG didn't get enough touches down the stretch, Allen was just turrible, Rondo wasn't being aggressive at all, basically everything the Celtics do well offensively, they shied away from in that quarter.
Free throw discrepancy was pretty vast, but again, the Lakers went to the hoop every shot in the last 15 mins of the game. I agree with what Simmons said about Kobe's legacy taking a little bit of a hit. He still put out a pretty good all-around game, but his shooting is going to be what sticks out to most observers. Even as a Pistons' fan I'll admit that I'm a Kobe supporter, but he's not Jordan and he never will be Jordan. There, argument over.
Derek Fisher probably clinched his spot in the top five of the Hall of "best role players ever" tonight too.

Ridiculous. He won. Again. Despite all the doubters and haters and the odds being against him. Another ring without any help from anyone.
but he's not Jordan and he never will be Jordan. There, argument over.
Exactly, he's better. Jordan never had a three point shot except for when the line was closer. And Jordan never, not once, pulled down more than 15 rebounds in a deciding game of the NBA Finals, let alone a game seven with everyone in the world hoping he'd fail so they could spread more lies about his legacy.
Jordan + Three Point Shot + Rebounding + Being the Greatest Winner of All Time = Kobe.

Now that is just delusional.

I guess the Lakers can go ahead and fire all the coaching staff and release all their other players because Kobe doesn't need any help.

Speaking of bitter tears:
Rasheed Wallace got into the officials locker room after the game before being forced out by security. Was asking to talk with referees.

Thugs until the end.

Sore losers.

When did I compare Durant to Kobe? That would be stupid. Kobe has played 11 seasons more than Durant for starters.
You really are the definition of a sore winner. At first I thought you were doing the whole Kobe thing as a joke, but it's long since become unfunny.
Congratulations to the Lakers anyway. Kobe deserved Finals MVP.
Now, how long until the new season starts?
Fri Jun 18, 2010 5:21 pm

Two more than Kevin Durant and LeBron James.
Phil89 wrote:When did I compare Durant to Kobe? That would be stupid. Kobe has played 11 seasons more than Durant for starters.
At the same age as Durant this season Kobe had lead the Lakers to two 60+ win seasons and one title. He had bombed out of the first round ZERO times. And he did it without any college experience and having to fight off established All-Stars to earn his starting job.
You really are the definition of a sore winner.
Loving the bitter tears so much. This has been festering since since the BLUNDER BOMBED OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND hasn't it.
Now, how long until the new season starts?

Can't wait for the three-peat can you?

On the bright side, good things are starting to happen to me in irl since the Celtics lost in game six. Maybe my fortune parallels that of the Lakers success or it's just opposite with the Celtics fortune. I'll wait and see.
Fri Jun 18, 2010 5:36 pm

jesus
Anyway was a pretty awful game to watch. I don't think the D was as good as everyone made out, I think the offensive choices were just stupid. Kobe was taking fadeaway threes while being double/triple teamed, Gasol/Artest were driving into the lane and throwing up dumb shots despite being surrounded by defenders etc. The only real enjoyment I got from it was Sasha Vujacic's motivational talk to Kobe. Like anyone would give a shit about what Sasha Vujacic thinks. Kobe probably wanted to stab him for stealing some of his precious time.

Another LAKER FAKER.
Both him and Jordan Farmar were just reminding Kobe of the things he told them before the game to fire them up and lead them to victory. Kobe was distracted because of the refs, they got his focus back and he won us another ring.
Fri Jun 18, 2010 5:59 pm
Right, but Charlotte people waited something a lot from Morrison.
Fri Jun 18, 2010 6:36 pm
Excellent game, just one of those high-tension, nail biter, grind it out defensive games that I love and lots of fans seem to hate. It reminded me a lot of the Detroit/Spurs series in 2005, which was a great one. Much like that series I hated the ending (the Lakers are so boring) but I was glad to see Rasheed Wallace go out on a gusty game, especially if it was his last game.
Also kudos to Ron Artest, what a redemption for that guy -- especially after the 2004 brawl, people hating his move to bolt from the Rockets and his questionable shot selection in this series. His post-game interview at the podium was just about the greatest thing I've seen since KG's rambling and shouting into the camera after winning the championship in 2008.
