You already have every MJ DVD

Sure, but if they produce another one as part of a collector's pack, I'll collect it.

I hope this means new features, as mentioned the Classic teams. Anything with MJ on it should be good.

If back in 2008 2K managed to pay the licenses of all retired players from the NFL to make NFL 2K8...I wouldnt find it hard for them to pay some licenses for players they dont have like Mark Price, Craig Ehlo, Stacey Augmon Dee Brown, Sam Perkins, Ac Green, horace Grant, Paxson, BJ, Bill Laimbeer, Nick anderson, Kenny Smith and even Sir Charles himself...I could go on and on with the list. It is not a reality yet, but it wouldnt be hard IMO.

Different leagues, different unions and rules regarding likeness rights.

Somehow, I think they'll go with a photo from his playing days.
Of course it will

Perhaps... anyway it is a good example that demonstrates that it has been done before, that it can be done and is not impossible.

There's no maybe about it. Current and former NBA players have a different union to current and former NFL players, there are different rules when it comes to likeness rights and video games. Just because something it's possible with the NFL license doesn't mean it's possible with the NBA license.
I'm not saying it's impossible or won't happen, but having said that it won't happen just because they were able to do it with the NFL games, because there are different rules to comply with when it comes to former NBA players.

I am just keeping a good hope about it. If it happens great, if it doesn´t fine by me... I will work on a early 90s patch myself like I did for 2K10 PC.

there is no nfl2k8

It is just a saying, I did not remeber the name of the game.... The "no nfl" part is because they could not have the licenses of the current players since EA had the exclusive rights to them. But 2K did get to buy licences of classic players (although in a fictional league) to make their "NFL" game were people got to play with NFL legends like John elway, Jery Rice, etc.

They had to track down every player or his estate individually and negotiate rights with them.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same legwork is required for the NBA players. If they're smart they're creating the players before and during the pursuit of permission. Although the NBARPA exists so there's a straight line to more former players than in the NFL (which is a branch of the NFLPA and thus could not be involved in All-Pro).

"I have no doubt that NBA 2K11 will be a big hit with gamers and basketball fans alike. I'm looking forward to getting back out onto the court, virtually. Let's hope they get my dunk from the foul line right." -

"Oh fuck hell no." - that would probably be me saying that after seeing Jordan is the player to beat in a dunk-off in 2K11's dunk contest.
Fri Jun 04, 2010 5:25 pm
That was a little strange.
