his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility.
Carlito doesn't want to be cool so the WWE spits him out.

That is totally cracked. Funny how TNA wrestler themes almost sound the same. RVD's was totally raped to death.
EDIT: "Back to Jobinator!"

Read stuff from wrestling sites: some say that Batista is legitimately done with wrestling. Not only I was disappointed with what WWE made of Cena as a guy that can't quit nor tap out, their talents are going away one by one. Not saying that Batista is uber-talented, but I actually liked his heel run (especially during the Evolution days).
Randy Orton too, is said to have a legitimate arm injury.
And having CM Punk's hair shaved made me realize that the WWE isn't in the 90's. If it was -- and if the writers go to a twist -- they could have made Mysterio lose in their Over The Limit match that could have lengthened the feud since these two guys provided a great set of matches.
I still think that they should put guys like JoMo to the main event.

Good stuff.

Agreed, though he's in his 40s and he's suffered a lot of injuries the past few years so I don't blame him for wanting to step away, if even just for a few months before some kind of "retirement tour".

All Cena hating right here:

Double post.
Seeing CM Punk in a mask made me think of what could have been a better angle in his feud with Mysterio. If their match in OTL gone the other way, it would be so much better. But then again, it's not the 90's anymore.
Sun May 30, 2010 10:59 am
I wonder how long they'll keep Punk under the mask. Perhaps a Mask vs Mask match is forthcoming, though surely the feud is at an end with Rey basically getting the last laugh.

I just want to know who's next in line for a week with the IC/US title.
Sun May 30, 2010 3:41 pm
Bret Hart's last reign with the US belt was the first since 2001 to last only a week or less and it was no disaster in the grand scheme of things. Likewise, there hasn't been an IC champion reign for a week or less since 2006. I'm guessing Kofi and R-Truth will be holding onto the belts until at least the next PPV.
Sun May 30, 2010 5:45 pm
Kofi unofficially had the IC belt for ten minutes a week ago, then the US title changes hands twice in as many weeks, then the IC title changes hands for the second time in three weeks. As far as official reigns go it doesn't look all that bad, but clustering it all together like that...
On the other hand, they're trying to push as many black people as they can, so yeah. Probably staying where they are.
Sun May 30, 2010 6:22 pm
But that's the thing, they're not all official reigns and there is an angle behind it. A bit of a sloppy one in the case of the IC title but it's not really that much of a mess when it's all said and done.
Is it really much worse than having Vince McMahon win the WWF Championship from HHH back in 1999, holding it a week and then vacating it, only for HHH to win it back at the next PPV? Or the main eventers playing hot potato with the two world titles in recent years, outside a couple of long reigns?
Sun May 30, 2010 6:28 pm
Haven't watched this week's SmackDown yet, but I don't see much point behind either angle so far. There are better ways of getting someone a title match than stripping people of the belt left, right, and center.
And again, as I said, the fact that they've done basically the same thing on both shows at exactly the same time doesn't really help. Either of these angles in isolation might not be so bad, both of them at once is a bit overkill.
Can't really comment on the 1999 angle, since I wasn't watching back then, but it does sound about as bad (if not worse, since McIntyre, Hart, Kingston, R-Truth and Miz are all actual wrestlers, though Vince was probably as much a wrestler then as Hart is now). Not to mention the presence of similar booking in the past doesn't mean what's going on is good.
Sun May 30, 2010 6:52 pm
True, however it was better than it probably sounds as there was lot of outside interference and it started a really heated feud between Vince and HHH, which included Stephanie's heel turn. It wasn't the best move, but it made sense in context and furthered the storyline.
I'm fine with Bret winning the US belt because I've enjoyed seeing him back and while some would say it doesn't really make up for Montreal, it was actually the ending that Bret never got; leaving Canada as champion then forfeiting the belt on the next RAW. Plus, a cocky heel gets his comeuppence and it transitions into Bret being an on-screen authority figure. Given that The Miz was rarely defending the belt on TV and heavily involved in the tag title scene, it made sense to get the belt off him and having Hart win it was meant as a bit of a "feel good" moment. Works for me.
The IC title situation is a bit murkier, as creative seemed to change their mind about McIntrye then backtrack on it, continuing with the "chosen one" angle which I'll agree I'm not fond of. It kind of works in getting him over as a heel and there's been worse angles, but it is a bit messy. To be honest I think they're betting on the wrong horse with McIntyre or at least pushing him too hard too early, but I guess time will tell.

So much for Taker's return as he suffered a broken orbital bone and a concussion in his match with Rey Mysterio last week. With Kane swearing revenge, I just hope they don't break out the obvious swerve and have him reveal that he's actually responsible for taking him out in the angle that's written Taker off TV, setting up Undertaker/Kane Part Umpteen.

Sounds like Survivor Series
is back on.
It was announced during a commercial break that Survivor Series will be held at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida on November 21st. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
If it's true, they should go back to the original gimmick instead of just having a couple of those matches and treating them as an afterthought.
Tue Jun 08, 2010 10:57 pm
Agreed. Recently it has been more like a squash tag match. I personally think that they should scrap Bragging Rights.
Tue Jun 08, 2010 11:46 pm
heard about then watched online the NXT rookies banding together to form a NWO-esk faction at the end of raw last night....Im intrigued.

I don't mind the Bragging Rights concept but it seems like it's more suited to the Survivor Series format anyway.

And now Danielson's been released. Brilliant work.
Sun Jun 13, 2010 4:26 am
yep, evidently it is because he strangled the ring announcer with his own tie during that NXT invasion which is a major no-no after the Benoit situation.
hoping that this is part of the story or something....because he's awesome
Sun Jun 13, 2010 5:51 am
Some say it could be a work. If not, then fuck you WWE.
People have been choked out before, even after the Benoit incident.
Sun Jun 13, 2010 6:23 am
Heath Slater or whoever was trying to do it to Cena with the ring ropes before Bryan did it
Sun Jun 13, 2010 10:38 am
If it's a work, then it's not a bad swerve. However, unfortunately one gets the impression it's legit. I can see where WWE is coming from if it's true and the reports about the reasons are accurate, but it's still a bad move on their part (assuming it isn't a work).
Sun Jun 13, 2010 8:19 pm
So true, although it would be pretty awesome if they're trying to psych out the IWC. This shit is getting huge reactions.
BTW, WWE's corporate site hasn't noted anything about his release ..
