part of me wants to see a huge comeback from phoenix but im also content of we stay ahead by 20! Artest playing his best game of the playoffs and Kobe had three ridiculous shots to close the 3rd period. Wow.
Sun May 30, 2010 12:43 pm
fuck yeah. Good work Sasha! Don't take any shit. Fuck you Dragic for flopping. You should become an Italian.
Sun May 30, 2010 12:52 pm
looks like we might have a game on our hands... Sasha pissed off dragic and dragic carved us up for 8 points in like 2 minutes...
Sun May 30, 2010 12:56 pm
Did you guys see what just happened to that photographer?
Sun May 30, 2010 1:04 pm
yeah, he got stepped on the neck by accident i think they said.
5 point game now...
Sun May 30, 2010 1:18 pm
Barring a miracle, this one is over. Good comeback by the Suns though.

I was thinking the same thing about Gasol and Fisher's flopping.

its over.... its Celtics Vs Lakers again.

Andrew: alwas hurts more when it happens against you.

Kobe has reminded me why he is my favourite player ever. Andrew, how comparable is Kobe to MJ in terms of his ability to close a gane like todays?
Sun May 30, 2010 1:29 pm
He's certainly comparable, he's solidified himself as one of the best closers in history and one of the best players in history. But I still rank MJ above him.

Oh of course you would! Was just wondering whether today's performance was in the same class as MJ since I was too young to remember many games.
Congrats to the Suns for a great series. It was a shame for me to see it end. They're a likable team and fun to watch. It was a good matchup.

I don't know that I'd necessarily call it one of Kobe's best clutch performances - I'd rate anything where the Lakers have trailed and he's brought them back or he's hit a gamewinner higher - let alone put this particular game in the same class as some of MJ's best. But having said that, he took care of business like MJ, Reggie and the other great clutch performers before him.

Not his best but I think one of his best this postseason for sure.
Sun May 30, 2010 1:50 pm
Well, sure. He came through when they needed him to, no question, but like I said I hesitate to rank it amongst Kobe's greatest clutch performers, let alone the greatest clutch performances in league history.

Agreed and totally understood.
I wonder if Sasha is back in Jax's doghouse after his mental snap.

Have to give it to the Lakers, I really thought Stern and the NBA would gift the Lakers a Finals' berth like they did back in 2002 but they did not, Kobe & the Lakers earned it so kudos to them.
As for the comments, yes Sit, Dragic did milk it but he still got hit in the face/chin so it would've hurt a bit. Gasol's flop was worse though & just a bad call by referees. Didn't matter though, Kobe dominated when it mattered the most.
Sit, Kobe is currently the third best shooting guard of All-Time behind Jerry West but isn't too far off passing him in my eyes. I can not foresee any situation where he passes MJ as best player ever. Sombody eventually will, but it won't be Kobe. As far as Kobe's clutch play goes, he is among my top 5 of All-Time with MJ, West, Havlicek & Bird.
Sun May 30, 2010 4:36 pm
I'd rank Reggie Miller above Kobe in clutch plays.

Reggie is over-rated. He's no Ray Allen

Awww. I don't know what to say. I was expecting game 7. Props to Kobe for his clutch plays.

I found it funny that Reggie completely forgot hitting that game-winner against the Bulls in '98, particularly given that the clip in question has been played before every ECF game.
Sun May 30, 2010 9:42 pm
Oh, f**k, the Lakers won.
Mon May 31, 2010 1:01 am
I believed that Lakers win. I wanted Suns win but they couldnt (dude is Kobe perfect?).

There'll never be another player like Michael Jordan, but right now Kobe's the closest thing to him. Who's a better finisher and more clutch than this cat? When it comes to (what Magic calls) "winnin' time", Kobe puts it on HIS shoulders to get it done. That's why he's the best in the game. LeBron will get there one day, but not now.
How long can he keep doing this? I say three, maybe four more years of great play.

kobe needs to win a defensive player of the year before people can even consider them in the same realm, until then i dont even put kobe second, hell he still aint top 10. amazing scorer but thats where it ends
Thu Jun 03, 2010 5:10 am
Wilt Chamberlain
Michael Jordan
Oscar Robertson
Bill Russell
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Magic Johnson
Larry Bird
Jerry West
Elgin Baylor
John Havlicek
This is my top ten list. To me, these are the immortal players. Of course, Kobe can't crack this list yet. But I do think he's in the second ten, Sauru.
Thu Jun 03, 2010 12:36 pm
Sauru and Jeffx in successive posts? This thread just got really old.
