Not at all surprising. Even if the Hawks had put up a better fight against the Magic, it appeared as though he was on borrowed time so it likely wouldn't have made a difference.

I'd say that it's a fair move though. The Hawks organization had given him plenty of opportunities, dating back to 3-4 seasons ago when the Hawks had a bad record. They didn't fire him and their records improved each season. I guess it's about time for a change.

I'm not saying it isn't time for a change, but if their record improved each season, couldn't it be argued that Woodson was making the most of his opportunities or at least doing a reasonable job?

and they get curb stomped three years in a row. The NBA is a what have you done for me lately business and Woodson has led his team to flame outs year after year recently. Not to mention the guys started to tune him out at the end of the year.

IMO, I think this should have happened sooner. The Hawks just seem to crash during playoff time. Nonetheless, Woodson did quite well despite all the hoopla going around in the Hawks' front office.
