Magic take a one point lead off a jumper by Carter. Should be a good finish, no matter who gets the win.

What bullshit calls. First Perkins's pick wasn't illegal enough to be called as a foul, and Rondo slipped just like he did in the second quarter, but now he gets called for the travelling. Other than that, pretty great battle between these two...
This one's going to be close...

Davis has drawn a couple of charges that really should've been blocking fouls as the offensive player has been in the air and in the act of shooting before he established position. Can't fault Davis' effort of course, if the referees are calling it that way then it's a smart play but that's call that needs to improve.

They always call it that way for him, he's one of the league leaders in charges drawn.
Wed May 19, 2010 1:32 pm
Pierce just fouled out, but Carter misses both free throws. That could just seal the deal for the Celtics.
Wed May 19, 2010 1:35 pm
Huge mistake by Redick there, wasted time and now they have to inbound the ball in the backcourt with 3.5 seconds left.
Wed May 19, 2010 1:36 pm
gee... nice one jj

And ultimately, it cost them the chance at getting a good shot to try and force the overtime, though Nelson did his best.
Wed May 19, 2010 1:39 pm
Howard should be the one leaving own team, not Lebron, not Wade... Rofl...
The Celtics are the better team with better chemistry it seems. That's about it. Orlando pretty much played trailing game.

Vince Carter's spill in the third quarter gave him an excuse to stare at his elbow and grimace after every missed shot and/or bad play.
If I'm a Magic fan I don't like the rampant fourth quarter comeback stuff, this team is better than that and should be able to apply that same effort to the first three quarters. Right now the Celtics don't even look worried about Orlando putting it to them and I don't know that Orlando has the mindset that they can actually do that.
Last thing, I know Rondo's jumper is less than ideal, but the way Orlando guards him makes you think he's Ben Wallace. He has the ability to make that 16-17 footer and the Magic have just been happy to let him do that late in the game. The Rondo of 2008 would fold and miss those shots, but I don't think the Rondo we're seeing has that in him.

Fuck Orlando's shooting guard rotation. Fuck the Lakers-Magic finals. Fuck this season. I've been watching NBA for over a decade, and I can safely say that this is my least favorite season to date. Greg Oden's knee, the pathetic conference semis, the lost bets, OKC, LAL-BOS rematch, 2K10 being a piece of shit - dear God.

Wow either Boston is way better or Orlando really is worst off than Cleveland.

It sorta makes me happy that I can almost argue the Heat gave more fight than Magic and Cavs did.

I think Redick blew up their chances on putting a better shot in regulation.
Wed May 19, 2010 7:58 pm
Really?

Just a thought. He could have called a timeout the moment he rebounded the ball.

Sure, Reddick deserves a criticism, but he was awesome until that last few possessions. Almost had me thought, he should have gotten more ball usage. Nelson also I thought was ok. Despite of his poor shooting, I didn't think he was forcing his plays too much and shot selections/ball usage weren't that hurting for the Magic. But VC and Lewis were terrible. Ineffectiveness of Lewis just isn't excusable. This guy's getting paid 20 mil and more than that for next 3 more seasons. As for VC, he just forces. Half the time I see him putting up the shot, it looks like it comes during either he doesn't have his feet set, or when he clearly doesn't have a rhythm. Paul Pierce just looks like outright better version of VC in this series.

dont forget that if the celtics didnt fold in game 1 vs cleveland they would have swept the 2 games there also

Wow...I never thought those old Celtics had another run in them. Orlando has to pray for a split in Boston.

It's unfortunate the final seconds marred an otherwise solid game by Redick, but the criticism is certainly justified. Doc Rivers suggested after the game that Redick was probably anticipating the foul and admitted that's what he wanted the Celtics to do but it didn't happen. He didn't cost the Magic the game, it needn't have come down to a three to force overtime with 3.5 seconds left in the first place, but it was an unfortunate blunder on his part all the same.

if anything carter is to blame for the free throws he missed.

Was that Nick Anderson or Vince Carter up there? I couldn't tell.
