ROSTER

Image

INTRODUCTION

Why i choose the sonics? This team is young, with great 2 players allen and lewis, and could grow into nice dynasty in the future. Also i have the salary flexibility - only 4 players have contracts for more than 1 year (lewis, swift, collison&ridnour) so rest of guys could be gone after the season. Of course keeping ray allen as a sonic will be the major task for the management.

What do you think about the roster, any suggestions? 5 days to the tip-off, enough time to make some changes. maybe you guys realized i have 2 good backup shooting guards of daniels and murray. both are in overall of 64, but daniels is older and has bigger contract. what about trading one of them for solid small forward, then put lewis to pf position? this will also unlock the starting 5 spot for rising sophmore point guard luke ridnour. radmanovic is a good shooter but will have no chance to compete in paint with guys like brand, j.o'neal , or rookie howard :)

ROBERT SWIFT

Image

Personally, i dont even know who that guy is (maybe i should try him on youtube or something x]) but in live '05 he's one of the best rookies available. young but skinny, i think he will be a backup center for ukrainian big man vitaly potapenko. swift's overall is a little bigger, but he's 40 pounds lighter than potapenko, with no nba experience and it will be hard time for him to face beasts such as shaq (same situation as radmanovic).

Okay, i'm off for now. please post any suggestions you have. Cheers ; ))

I actually have an offline Seattle Sonics dynasty in Live 2005 that I play every once in a while. Was a really fun team to watch and also fun to use. Good choice.

When I recently re-installed my Live 05 copy, I also went with the Sonics. Allen and Lewis usually shoot like 10 treys each and combine for 60 ppg.

Good luck!

SONICS' ACTIVITY IN LAST PRESEASON MOVEMENTS

Image

At first, thanks for comments everone; ] hope that someone will follow.
And now. As i have mentioned before, my plan was to trade one of my backup shooting guards, and i decided to trade daniels instead of murray. i was looking for guys like d.mason, t.prince, a.harrington, j.posey to get them for daniels+picks [eventually someone from the bench]. But there were many trade restricitons (salary cap limits etc.) so i was unable to get anyone of them. I dont know why, most of teams were not interested to include my picks in their trading plans. Phoenix was one of them:

Image

But then, i've spotted one, talented player far behind the starting five for the Suns, guys like marion, q.richardson.

JOE JOHNSON LANDS IN SEATTLE

Image

It was a little suprise for me  maybe you guys will call it an unreal trade, but it was legal and cpu accepted it. Now there it is a clear pg spot for ridnour and i've moved lewis on power forward as i've mentioned in the first post.

Image

TIP-OFF. JOHNSON'S SOLID PERFORMANCE IN HIS DEBUT, A SHOOTOUT IN ROSE GARDEN

Trailblazers 105 - 110 Supersonics
>>boxscore<<
*simulated game*

Image
JJ showed his shooting touch with 27 points on 11-26 shooting, 2-3 from beyond the arc and 8 assists. He also grabbed 6 rebounds

Image
Allen drops another deadly jumper. He combined for 28

Image
Zach crashes the paint. It was an off-night for Randolph as he scored only 5 on 2-10 shooting

Enjoy.

Yeah it's a major rip-off in real life, but with those ratings it isn't in the game. Great win. (Y)

HOMECOURT LOSS IN SECOND GAME OF THE SEASON

Image

Supersonics 103 - 108 Magic
>>boxscore<<
*played by myself*

Image

This wasn't a game that 'Sonics fans came to Key Arena to see. Steve Francis led Magic to a nice road win, scoring 29 points and dishing 5 assists. Mobley (30pts) and Turkoglu (18) were just unstoppable in 3rd quarter. In late 4th 'Sonics were trying to get back on track but they've been throwing bricks. Allen and Lewis missed a lot of open 3's, JJ wasn't in the game with just 6 points. Radmanovic scored 15 off the bench, Swift and Collison also played nice.

Image
Howard goes for offensive rebound. Besides the foul trouble through entire game, DH combined for 7 rebounds and 18 points, most from the paint

Image
It was a great matchup in 2nd quarter, as Radmanovic and Turkoglu were dropping treys on each other

No way that trade would've happened in recent years, but given this Dynasty takes place before Johnson's breakout it's not too unreasonable.

SUNS ARRIVAL AT KEY ARENA, NASH WAS NOT ENOUGH

Image

Supersonics 100 - 99 Suns
>>boxscore<<
*played by myself*

In their third game of the season, Sonics rebuilded themselves after despiting loss on monday vs Magic. Ray Allen was on fire, scoring 35 points on 10-18 shooting, also he went to the free throw line fifteen times, missing only one. Radmanovic was a true help from the bench, he played 26 minutes and combined for 18 points. Nash was the second, behind Allen shooting leader in the game, he had 29 for the Suns and Keon Clark added 16.

Image
A former Seattle player, Antonio Daniels, was welcomed in Key Arena as always. He wasn't the x-factor for his team, scoring 11 from the bench

Image
Sonics showed the hustle and great defense in last seconds of the ballgame. Ridnour with the steal and Radmanovic layed it in with 14.8 to go

I will think about trading Swift. For now, he seems to be a good addition for the team. However thanks for comments and advices.

ALLEN AND COMPANY WITH A DIFFICULT ROAD WIN

Image

Celtics 110 - 116 Supersonics
>>boxscore<<
*played by myself*

High shooting continues as Sonics win their 3rd game of the season. New trio of Allen-Lewis-Johnson combined for 76 points. On the other side it was a great game from Ricky Davis, who finished the game with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assist.

In another games, Lakers were visiting Minnesota as Wally Sczerbiak scored impresive 34 points and Timberwolves easily won.

Image
Celtics' double team was really effective in the 4th quarter, however it was too late to change the score for Boston

Image
Allen with another trip to the free throw line. Easy bucket with 17.7 to go

Thierry. wrote:Radmanovic is playing huge (Y)

Sure, he's putting good numbers, but future will show if he'll be re-signed with Sonics or not.

FIRST MONTH SUMMARY

Image

I've simmed up to the rest of the games of november as Sonics went 6-6.

Image

Not bad at all, hmmm... Seattle have a lot of offensive guns but many lacks in defense also. Joe Johnson is a good addition to the team, he average 18.3 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 3.7 apg. Nice think about him is that his overall rating automatically increased from 64 to 66 when he was traded.

MVP WATCH

Image

It's a little suprise mainly because of Antoine Walker who's playing best basketball in his life. Kings' forward Peja Stojakovic is impressive too with 28.7 points per game.

Other NBA news:

* Antoine Walker was named Player of the Month in East.
* Peja Stojakovic was named Player of the Month in West.
* Ben Gordon was named East Rookie of the Month with 18.3 ppg, 5.9 rpg & 4.1 apg.
* Shaun Livingston was named West Rookie of the Month with 7.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg & 3.6 apg.

> The Bobcats sign free agent Alonzo Mourning for a 2-year 11.82M deal.
> The Nuggets sign free agent Eddie Griffin for a 1-year 2.01M deal.
> The Warriors sign free agent DJ Mbenga for a 1-year 385K deal.

# Bulls' guard Kirk Hinrich broke his nose in a 89-82 home loss vs Boston. His recovery may take up to 3 weeks.
