NBA 2K10 Patch Discussion

Well, the patches for the 360 screwed up any association in progress. Just check out Lamrock's 2k10's associations.

Big men like Dwight Howard start taking 3 pointers during simulated games AND during a live game. I read that starting a new association after the patch with player roles/team chemistry off(not so sure about the team chemistry one) didn't have the same issue as an association that was started before the patch was installed. However, there is a problem with turning those two things off. Turning player roles off causes rookies not to get any minutes until players retire, and turning team chemistry off can result in things like the Nets making the finals and powerhouse teams missing the playoffs.
I wonder if deleting the settings file before installing it will help at all. That seems to be a fix to a lot of common issues.

nothing we can really do (other than turning off player roles) for simulation stats (which if I see big guys shooting and missing 3s in the shooting stats I could give a shit) but in-game if you play D on the centers they wont take the 3. I remember reading that at OS

The thing I'm most concerned about are Big Men Shooting 3's in MyPlayer/Association.

To show proof this is in MyPlayer(remember in MyPlayer you cannot change sliders/difficulty on consoles) on a PS3(this guy downloaded 2nd consoles patch):

The problem is why are the Bigs standing around on the perimeter? They should be in the paint posting up.

Now you guys know why I keep harping on this issue. This would be a game-killer. Imagine playing a close game in MyPlayer or Association and a Big Man like Andrew Bynum shoots a 3. It would really piss you off as all that hard work leading up to that shot was a waste with a Big Man shooting a 3.

Let's all hope PC Users this is fixed in the PC Patch!!

There is a workaround in Association by turning off Player Roles. The problem is when you turn off Player Roles, everyones chemistry is unrealistically high and therefore bad teams have good ratings. Also an insane amount of trades occur/stupid trade logic.

So some are saying to turn off Chemistry and to control all 30 teams.

Hopefully PC Patch fixes this issue so we won't have to deal with this!!

This guy is playing Association mode, not Season mode because this glitch does not occur in Season mode. Only MyPlayer/Association. Why are the bigs hanging around the perimeter and not in the paint!!

This happens several times every game as well as in Sim stats. All Big Men that play have 100+3's attempted for a season and thus have low FG% which equals more rebounds that should not occur.

Again, hoping this does not happen post-patch on the PC!!

It seems as though MLB 2K10 patch is coming soon. I would be really ticked off if MLB 2K10 PC users get a patch in less than a month while NBA 2K10 PC users had to wait 5 months for one. I mean there are more NBA 2K10 PC users compared to MLB 2K10 PC users. You would think it would be the opposite in terms of support/priority by the 2K Team. Maybe it has to do with available resources at that particular time.

Let the MLB 2K10 PC Users suffer what we NBA 2K10 PC users went through!!

Maybe NBA 2K10 had alot more issues than MLB 2K10, or they were much harder to fix.

I'm a basketball fanantic and I just want this game to work properly post-patch. If that happens, this would be the best NBA game ever released on the PC so far. NBA 2K9 post-patch would come in second.

In addition to what Pdub posted, the priority of the game may also be a reason. 2K Sports has the exclusive license of MLB hence giving it more attention (all versions) as compared to the NBA 2K10 PC gamers. Whether we like it or not, we NBA 2K PC gamers aren't that much of a priority yet as compared to the 360 and PS3 owners.

If it is out of 2K's hands, how can DD's all release it at the same time for "online compatibility" reasons? Think about it. Once DD's receive the patch they are going to release the file as soon as they can. 2K has no say in this.

They aren't going to contact Steam/GamersGate/Direct2Drive/Retail-DVD all at once and release it all at the same time.

Something is fishy here...... 2K Dev/QA Team spent all that time working on PC Patch and now its back to "who knows when patch will be released."

In the end some versions will get the patch faster than other versions. Why didn't 2K Sports just upload the file for Retail-DVD versions on 2ksports.com and tell the rest(GamersGate/Steam/Direct2Drive) to wait until those companies release the patch?

It's just poor programming. Many games won't let you play another player with a different version because they are incompatible. So, I am guessing 2K10 wasn't programmed with that i mind.

I think we will see the patch on May. If what's usually a day's job takes 2 weeks to do for 2k, that's all we can expect.
