Patching PS2 games?

Wed Jan 28, 2004 1:47 am

Maybe this should be in other games but I'm not sure.

Well, I put March Madness in my Dad's PC. It has a DVD-Rom so I wanted to see what would happen. It seems to have everything a PC game would have.

For instance, in the render folder it has xplayer, xcheads, etc. They're all .viv files. I'm just wondering if it is possible to patch these games.

no i dont think so. i mean if you wanted to patch those viv files you would have to burn the patch on the cd and replace the original files. its hard to imagine that burning any kind of files on an original cd of a game works...

Nah, it won't work. It probably would if you modded your PS2 and edited the files, but you'd have to update everything you wanted and then transfer it. It'd be cool to do, and possible, but it would be a ton of work and illegal since you're modding a PS2.

Maybe you should try 2003 or something else, just in case you screw it up.

How can I screw it up?

Easy, edit a wrong file or something.

but you can't burn it onto the original dvd.... so it will never screw up

What he said, I was planning to change the files, and then put all the NBA Live files on another dvd
