But wait. Can explain in more detail how I add a bsh.fsh file to a player who does not have one? I'm still not sure how to do that.

Please use the search function. There must be more than one thread on how to add those things.

Sorry for my English...

1-Download the EA Graph Editor.
2-Turn on the Custom Art feature.(C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 2004\main\cscripts) in the xstartup file, change customart from 0 to 1.
3- To install a patch, in this path, C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 2004\render\xplayer , you have to craete a folder for each player, with the first to letter in the first name, and five with the last. Ex: alivers, dawest_, etc..
4- Now in the shoes business, download the files of shoes you want it, and make a folder called shoes for example and put whever you want.
When you download an image, like in Steve site, you just have to save them in jpeg or bitmap, a prefer bitmap for the quality, and put them on the folder.
5-Download some shoes files like bsho.fsh, bsho_home.fsh, bsho_away.fsh, for alternate, home and away games. PS: You can use files for retro and 1on 1 too.
6- Now with EA Graph, select one of this files, for example the bsho.fsh, click on open it, it will show some shoe, now we are gonna change for the one you want it. After you open the shoe file with the Ea Graph, sh00, go in tools, import wizard, import an existing external file in the current open image, next, browse, and chosse the picture of the shoe that you have downloaded to change it, you will see the path for the picture, then click on next and finished, close and open again and you have change the shoe.
7- Now you just have to put this file in the player create folder, C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 2004\render\xplayer\alivers and the player will appear with the shoe you chosse for him.
8-When you have downloaded a shoe already in a bsho.fsh and want to save the picture, you have to open with EA Graph, choose file, them save as, put the name of the shoe and save the picture in your computer to use it when you want it.

OLE thanks A LOT...I truely mean it. I'm just having one problem. After I get the shoe to change I can't get it in the created player fold. (I'm trying to give Jermaine O'Neal some new shoes) I can't get pass step 7. How do I get the shoe in the C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 2004\render\xplayer\jeoneal folder. Do I have to save it as a fsh file? I tried that and although I got the shoe in that file, once I went to view it in the game it was all messed up.

Not for practice gears.
If you want a specific player wear those shoes you have to do some dbf editing which is not my cup of tea.
Why don't you use custom art?

cause it makes the game crash... but, i'm gonna try to turn the custom art on and just install shoe patches... keep it up steve!

Lots of colorways in the Nike Flight and Player Section available.

Paul Pierce, Penny Hardaway and Jamal Tinsley used to wear these lately.

Hope you like them.

I wasn't satisfied with EA's work on these.
I redid them in 30 minutes. This shoe was quite easy to patch.
Lots of colorways will be available in the next few days.
The green-gold pair needs some minor tweaks.

Does saving the image as a .bitmap give that much of a noticable difference (quality-wise) over saving it as a .png?

I would check the difference for myself, but I don't have the game yet. However, I have been saving all of the shoe images in .png format. Is the difference that noticeable, where I should redownload all the shoes
in .bitmap format?

I think it doesn't matter.
I saved them as png - if you save them as bmp, you won't increase the quality of the pic. You only enlarge the size.

Okay, guys.
As the topic states, I will retire from shoe patching.
I really spend too much time in front of my pc, hunted the www for clear and useful pics of the latest or unreleased shoes, burned my eyes staring at the tft, puzzling all the parts of the shoe together and neglected my beloved family and so on ...
Some of you hardcore patchers will know my feelings.
My buddy Sykal left the Shoestore months ago due to a new job and so I had to keep the slack up all by myself.
I've done my best until I realized last weekend how much time I wasted for this "useless" stuff.
I always appreciated your comments and I will stay in contact with my longtime pals.
Take care and enjoy the latest and last shoe patch in the Adidas Team and Player Section.

Good choice Steve! ............ And good for you :D ...............patching becomes so addictive and time consuming that you neglect everything just to do it................... believe me i know.
You have given so much to the Live community.............. You are a legend.
Just make sure all the time and effort you put into patching, you put that same work ethic into what you do next in life; and you are bound to be successful.

See ya,

David
