Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

Does anyone know how to do this?
or does anyone have the releases that were posted on here that edited the socks for TUP09??
Please, we need this to perfect TUP10!!!

I'm pretty sure that's achieved through editing teamgear.dbf, specifically the entries for the home and away jerseys for each team.

yea that's what i thought too...and i've played around with it but with no luck
so i'm hoping if someone could just repost the work that someone had already released about it so i can see exactly how they did it.

sorry for the double post,
but in my everlasting investigation on how to make this work...
can someone explain to be how the columns ACCCOLOR and SOCKCOLOR work? and why are they only single digit numbers instead of the HEX->DEC coding for colors used by the other columns (AUTOCOLOR, AUTOCOLOR2, AUTOCOLOR3) ?

As I understand it, they operate on predefined colour values rather than the hex values the other colour attributes utilise.

2 questions:
if so...how do u kno what number determines the predefined colour?
if so...why is it that whatever i change the SOCKCOLOR attribute to, the Team Socks still refer to the color that is set by the attribute in AUTOCOLOR column? can i change it to have the socks refer to AUTOCOLOR3 instead?

I don't have all those values mapped out, sorry. I don't think there's any way to change the pointers to the various colour columns, you just have to play around with them as necessary.

i see thanks Andrew
i'll just see what i can figure out....
i've tried changin the value in the SOCKCOLOR column...but notice no changes...
what does that column and the ACCCOLOR column do? cause every seems to revolve around the AUTOCOLOR columns only...

It's been a while since I played around with those values. I'll have another look and if I can make any headway, I'll be sure to post my findings.

Apologies for the late followup, but I went back and played around with the values in teamgear.dbf. Having not had any success, my conclusion is that the sock colour field in teamgear.dbf isn't utilised by NBA Live 08; even the teams that should have black socks designated by default don't work properly, so I don't think there's anything we can do about this. Just another one of those things that has gone missing/been messed up as the years have gone by.

thanks
Andrew, really disappointed about that (about Live's short coming not ur work).
i was review this board and i
think the past patches/solutions consisted of making all accessories a set color and making team color socks black and white only....
oh well i guess this is a dead thread/lost cause now.....
dang u EA!

Pretty much. It does work as it should in previous games but NBA Live 08 seems to ignore that attribute.

ya i have this problem to is bekuz the roster have a problem

It doesn't have anything to do with a problematic roster. It's a limitation of the game itself.
