Can't help it but be excited about tomorrow's Raw. I will find a way to watch it.

Tonight's the night. Thinking about watching both, RAW and iMPACT!.

Re: WWE Thread

Tue Jan 05, 2010 1:14 am

my plan is to watch impact with wrestlezone's recap of raw and flip over there during commercials of TNA.

other than Bret, raw doesnt have much that interests me tonight. and nothing huge isnt going to happen with Bret tonight other than a speech and possibly a challenge. I'm interested on how it's going to play out, but tonight nothing big will happen. (unless Bret starts swearing and shit to get back at mcmahon for the screwjob)

on impact though, we get an X-division 6 sides of steel thingy, 2 knockout matches, the ODB one is a rematch and they had a really good match I watched and watching Awesome Kong and that Hamada girl are also interesting girl wrasslers. the debut of that tag team from ROH whose matches seem really cool, and just having all the pieces of the NWO back together is more interesting to me than a PG return of Bret Hart.

Sweet Dreams Tommy.

Should be a huge night, possibly even a landmark night in the world of professional wrestling. RAW doesn't air here until tomorrow but I'll be checking out the coverage today and if nothing else recording Bret Hart's segments tomorrow.

jeff Hardy is rumored to be in TNA's X division steel asylum match

Re: WWE Thread

Read that he was expected to visit friends backstage but wasn't aware he might appear.

Re: WWE Thread

rumored to appear during the match, so i guess he isnt in it

however, during the UFC thing they have on right now, he and Shannon Moore just got out of a Lambo and Tazz spaztically said they are officially in the house

Interesting...TNA are certainly going all out.

Yeah sounds like they might be OK if they can resist burying the young/homegrown stars but from the sounds of it WWE put on a good show in their own right, DX's antics with Hornswoggle not withstanding.

Well the most fun I had last night was flipping between both shows, brought back a nice sense of nostalgia of seeing which show would come back from commercial first or which match that was going on is better.

Looking at it from a wrestling stand point, TNA won by a landslide. Both show's ratios of wrestling/talking wasn't very good but the quality of TNA's wrestling IMO destroyed WWE's last night. The Diva's can't wrestle for shit yet the Knockouts have great matches consistently. I actually watched the Knockout's tournament last week, that alone amazes me.

With that being said, TNA fucked up.....a lot. I dunno if I was the only one who noticed it (haven't gone on WZ yet) but a lot of the matches had botches and the crowd got a little out of control and the censors had to ruin promo's and commentary because of the bull shit chants. The big botch of the night was the minute long explanation that the AJ vs Angle main event would stay on through it's conclusion thanks to Bichoff, Hogan, and Dixie. And then immediately cuts to commercial. That match drew out too long, both guys kept reversing or getting stuck in each others finishers and kicked out of clean finisher hit after hit after hit. Moreso because they didnt know when they came back from commercial, but before that happened that was one hell of a match.

So TNA's "new" talent, lots of big names but it remains to see how this new Invasion angle will work out. There was just a lot going on and hopefully it continues to work to light the fire under WWE's ass.

The Bret Hart stuff....man, I feel and he looks old. I think the crowd could have been more into it, but it was good to see the HBK stuff and the Vince thing doesn't surprise me at all. Hopefully they play Hart returning well because he was a contract and wasn't just a 1 night deal.

i agree with Jao.. bret hart really looked old.. vince mcmahon looked younger haha.. and yes the divas can't wrestle.. but maryse is super hot.. kinda makes up for it.. and the first hour of tna had too much commercial breaks.. TNA still kinda feels second rate to me.. or maybe it's just because i don't like hogan.. and just a question.. is jeff hardy with tna already?? or is this just a 1 shoot deal?

Seems like Jeff Hardy will be returning to TNA as well. Shucks.

To me seeing Bret Hart back was just amazing. The time when people were chanting "WE WANT BRET" was spinechilling.

Re: WWE Thread

i wonder why he would jump ship to TNA when he already achieved main event status in the WWE.. i guess he was afraid to get his 3rd strike from the WWE drug policy??

Re: WWE Thread

Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:16 am

According to this article, he already had his third wellness strike and would've been released if his contract wasn't expiring anyway. Even if he didn't, I'm sure with his current legal problems and reported burnout, TNA's schedule would be much more appealing to him.

Lots of ex-WWE wrestlers on TNA last monday! (Ric Flair, Hogan, Moore, Hardy, Hall, Waltman). So with TNA trying to compete with WWE, I hope WWE wakes up and try to improve their product.

Vince will soon buy TNA.

I don't know about it happening soon but unless Bischoff and co have learned from their mistakes with WCW, who knows what the situation will be in four or five years.

i see.. so he did fail another drug test..

It certainly seems that way.

Re: WWE Thread

Wed Jan 06, 2010 4:39 pm

Hogan, Bischoff, Hall, Nash and Waltman on one channel, HBK and Bret Hart on the other.

Nothing quite like originality, is there?

Re: WWE Thread

Wed Jan 06, 2010 4:58 pm

In all fairness, in the world of pro wrestling completely original isn't always better. Sheamus becoming WWE Champion out of nowhere with virtually no build is a great example of how new ideas, poorly developed, are just as bad if not worse as the same old thing every week. At least there was a lot significance with some very combustible - and genuine - issues with Bret Hart and WWE/HBK. As soon as Hogan signed on with TNA, it wouldn't have surprised me if I'd been told there'd be some sort of de facto nWo reunion taking place. As far as what happened on RAW, I never thought we'd see something like that but I'm glad that Bret Hart is going to have a chance to finish his WWE career on a more positive note.

Re: WWE Thread

well said... santino marella's butt has more charisma than sheamus.. hell hornswoggle is more entertaining than sheamus.. they should've first gotten him a manager who can work the mic.. similar to the heyman/lesnar build up..
