Yep, Nets are a bunch of killers in my Association

Warrick has been solid in patches, but has been inconsistent, much like IRL.

As for trades, I got a few guys on the trading block. The Magic want to give re Pietrus for Ridnour, but due to Ridnour expiring contract & Frenchmen has a couple more years to run, I think I'll pass on it. An interesting one is for Francisco Elson, the Cavs are offering me JJ Hickson. I think Hickson would be a good young prospect to add to bring some PF/C play off the bench & hopefully improve. Elson is expiring contract. Hickson is not. I might feel a bit bad for Cavs with this deal that they offer, so if I was to do it, I'd chuck in the 2010 Heat 2nd Rounder that I currently hold.

Why are you shocked with Suns at .500? They started season 3-7 so getting to 9-9 is a great achievement since they fired Alvin Gentry. I think they opened season with tough schedule but now they're hitting their strides.

As for Bogut, yep, just like real life

Elson for Hickson is good, since Hickson will likely end up being better than Warrick, but its a major rip-off. Meanwhile, the Ridnour/Pietrus swap would be a good move, but again, unrealistic (the Magic are set at the point), and not really in your team's best interest.

Shame about the losing streak. Like the real Bucks I guess.

Yep, I know the Hickson move is a bit unrealistic, that's why I thought maybe a 2nd Rounder to sweeten the deal for Cavs. But yeah, probably won't do the deal & likely pick up a PF in the draft. Or given how I'm going, Evan Turner might not be out of the question

As for Ridnour, I wouldn't make that deal as makes no sense for Magic & is a ripoff at this stage.

As for losing, yep, a bit disappointing. Shame the East isn't as weak in my Association as IRL or I'd still be in the playoff hunt

Clutch, the game occasionally cuts to coach or players on bench (much like a TV broadcast). Skiles is always grumpy looking it seems. This much losing is just getting annoying

As for draft, anything could happen so no guarantees I'll end up with any particular player. Good point about Turner though, I'll probably drop his durability rating down a little.

Still playing 50% of games. Although last game I simmed last quarter as lowly Clippers had just dropped 41 points in 3rd quarter against me & had gone from a 5 point lead to a 20 point lead. Couldn't handle it anymore

Yeah, wasn't too bad. Hit some Scotch, Bourbon, Whiskey & the odd vodka jelly shot but wisely moved to water at about 11pm to save today

We ended up leaving around 11.45pm due to Stef being tired. Surprised she lasted that long. So yep, was on the road home once the decade begun. All good though. Was a good night. And yourself?

I had a lot of Corona, Tooheys Extra Dry, New, and Rum and Cokes... it started off good, got a bit weird after midnight though... not to mention some racist guy saying shit to me and Alco, Stunnah, and Stunnah's gf having to hold me back at end of train ride and all the way out of the station.

In some good news, Andrew Bogut & Brandon Jennings somehow made it to the East All-Star teams. I'm guessing it was due to the number of games my team had played & 2k working it on All-Star votes, which is why some teams that should have big representation (i.e. Hawks, Celtics) don't. All-Star teams don't matter though, I'm more concerned about All-NBA teams. As for the T-Mobile Rookie-Sophomore game, Jennings made it for Rookies and Mbah a Moute & Ilyasova made it for the Sophomores. Also, trade deadline less than 2 weeks away, so there will probably be some deals given I'm on my way to a (pro-rata) 25 win season

San Antonio receives: SF Joe Alexander (1 year, $2.6m owing)

THE SPIN

Milwaukee: The Bucks had no intention of re-signing Joe Alexander this off-season as he has not shown many glimpses of why they took him with the 8th pick in the 2008 Draft. Alexander's agent was demanding a trade and with little interest around the league, this was the best that the Bucks could get, Finley's expiring contract and the Spurs' 2nd Round pick this summer.

San Antonio: The Spurs like Joe Alexander's upside and thinks he worth giving up a mid 2nd Round pick to get him. Finley was not in rotation as behind Parker, Manu, Hill and Mason in the guard depth chart, so he's just been thrown in to match salaries. This is just another move that the Spurs have made to make their roster more athletic (e.g. George Hill, Richard Jefferson and now Joe Alexander).

THE REALITY

Milwaukee: The Bucks are looking to accrue as many short-term assets as possible moving forward. This could potentially be viewed as a very poor deal for the Bucks if Alexander's career ever takes off.

Projected Lineup: A. Bogut/E. Ilyasova/L. Mbah a Moute/M. Redd/B. Jennings/ C. Bell(6th)

San Antonio: The Spurs are one of the savviest teams in the league as they pick up a former lottery pick essentially for free (their 2010 2nd Round draft pick). Alexander is unlikely to play much this season as the Spurs' backup to Richard Jefferson and whether he sticks on the roster will be determined next summer. Whether Alexander pans out or not is irrelevant, their is no downside in this trade for the Spurs.

Projected Lineup: T. Duncan/A. McDyess/R. Jefferson/M. Ginobili/T. Parker/R. Mason (6th)

Cleveland receives: SG Michael Redd (1 year, $17.0m owing with player option 1 year, $18.3m), C Francisco Elson (1 year, $1.7m owing) and Roko Ukic (2 years, $2.8m owing)
Milwaukee receives: C Zydrunas Ilgauskas (1 year, $11.5m owing), PF/C Leon Powe (1 year, $850k owing with team option 1 year, $916k) and PG Daniel "Boobie" Gibson (4 years, $17.3m owing)

THE SPIN

Cleveland: The Cavs have been mediocre to date (8-9), but are still looking at being one of the favourites to make it to the NBA Finals if they can get it rolling after the All-Star break. The addition of Michael Redd, a former All-Star and Ohio native, provides even more firepower to match with the likes of Atlanta, Boston and Orlando. The Cavs also were able to get rid of Boobie Gibson's contract.

Milwaukee: With the season well and truly down the toilet, Bucks' GM Tom Hammonds is looking forward to the 2010 free agency class. With this deal the Bucks will have an additional $12 million in cap space this summer, which they may use to try to lure the top free agents. The main player the Bucks will be happy to receive in the deal is former Celtic Leon Powe, who should provide much needed toughness inside to help All-Star centre Andrew Bogut.

THE REALITY

Cleveland: The Cavs were getting desperate. They are currently 9-10 and are in serious danger of not only not competing for the title, but also missing the playoffs. If the Cavs are serious about resigning Lebron James, then they need to get winning. Getting Michael Redd adds even more firepower to an already good team. Whilst the Cavs have underachieved to date, it will only take one solid winning streak and they can secure the Central Division and a top 4 seed. The Cavs had to give up popular franchise player, Zydrunas Ilguaskas and his expiring deal, and starting power forward Leon Powe (9ppg, 7rpg) to get Redd but the stakes are much higher than those two for the Cavs. GM Danny Ferry will do whatever it takes to prove to James that the Cavs are serious about building a winner. The Cavs were glad to unload Boobie Gibson's contract in the deal, who has been a big disappointment since signing a contract extension after promising play in the 2007 playoffs.

Projected Lineup: S. O'Neal/A. Varejao/L. James/M. Redd/M. Williams/D. West (6th)

Milwaukee: The Bucks didn't want to be strapped with Michael Redd's whopping $18.3 million contract next season, as he is 100% likely to exercise the option given that he'd be lucky to fetch much more than the mid level exemption in the open market. It is likely the Bucks will buy out and/or release Z. Powe is the hidden gem in this deal and it'll be interesting to see if he can crack Milwaukee's starting lineup at power forward. Unfortunately not all is good, as the Bucks are now burden with Boobie Gibson's contract. Hopefully for their sake he will look more like the 2007 NBA Finals' version and be a capable backup to Brandon Jennings.
