Cavs frustrate Lakers as crowd gets heated

Sat Dec 26, 2009 12:30 pm

phpBB [video]

Reason why Laker fans are mostly bandwagoners. One game they think Kobe is god, the next game they blame refs. It's the Lakers playing at home. Don't ever say it's the refs fault.

Also liked the block by Parker on kobe, moon blocking kobe and moon draining a three-pointer that kinda changed the game. Parker played solid defense that limited kobe to 11-32. I wished they stayed in t-dot.

The refs were decidedly horrible in the bit I watched... Thats not to say the lakers didnt suck though. They sucked plenty!

The Lakers had some legitimate gripes on at least a few plays in the second half, but they also got a few iffy calls themselves. At the end of the day, the Cavs shot the ball better and made some great plays to build that first half lead that the Lakers ultimately couldn't recover from.

Pretty one sided battle between these two great teams. Kobe had 35-9-8 but 32 shot attempts... also Lebron with 7 TO...

As it was one of the few matches I could watch completely, I have to say it was a deserved win for the Cavs. LA simply could not contain Mo Taylor and Anthony Parker did a good job on defending Kobe making him at least less effective (thats what you can say if someone scores 35P on 32FGA).
Further Shaq had some easy points in the first half and I also thought Gasol and Bynum played poorly this game.

Anyone who thinks the officials did remotely well in this game is an idiot.

Anyone who thinks that affected the outcome of the game in any significant way is also an idiot.

Anyone who thinks a flying foam hand is intimidating is likewise an idiot.

And last of all, anyone who thinks it should be an NBA rule to make the best players guard each other in games is the biggest idiot of all.

I must be an idiot.

I don't understand what you're trying to point out with this comment.

No one does, but it doesn't matter what they threw. Throwing the foam fingers was just idiotic and disrespectful either way.

I understand where you're coming from there, and totally agree with you. I like Jeff Van Gundy, but can't agree with him there.

Despite the fact that what I said was that the Lakers lost the game all by themselves?

koberulz wrote:Anyone who thinks the officials did remotely well in this game is an idiot.

I must be an idiot.

I guess it's also possible you didn't really watch the game. Not really sure how you could watch it and conclude that it was well officiated, really.

I don't understand what you're trying to point out with this comment.

That, as said above, the Lakers would have lost the game even if it were officiated well. As previously stated by Mike Breen, Laxation, and Andrew.

I doubt you, john26, watched the game. I was watching it live last night, and believe me, the refs were absolutely atrocious. Besides hopping on LeBrons nuts all game long, the announcers had time to blame refs, I believe I heard like 20 times "Oh, that's just a bad call." from them, and about 80 times "I just love the way LeBron moves without the ball." Credits to LeBron by the way for calling his team together in the end to ignore the shizzle going on, they were leading already and there was no need to get stuff even worse.

Bottom line, though, that there were so many bs calls for both teams, and I don't think a homer or an hater of whatever team has anything to argue about that, complete mess out there last night.

If by "remotely well" you meant an okay or decent job, I would still say that the officials did "remotely well". There were a few fouls that should have been called on the Cavs, like the play before Derek Fisher got a technical called on him (even though Kobe cleary should have also received a technical) that happened after Kobe was whining when he tried to shoot over Shaq but ending up turning over the ball, but there weren't many of them. Trust me, I watched the game. Being the Cavs fan that I am, living extremely close to Cleveland, and ABC being one of the few channels that I get in HD, I made sure to watch this game as I also watch every other Cavs game.

As I said in the post before XxHyperDunk24's, it really wasn't a well officiated game. It was far below average, but even though I like Lakers, Kobe and all that shizzle, let's not pretend that officiating cost them the game. None besides Kobe showed up, and Kobe's shot wasn't falling either. Still, though, the refs were bad.

The officiating could've been worse in that it could've been much more one-sided and it could've directly affected the outcome, which is something you never want to see unless there's an obvious call that should be made (and even then, it's anti-climactic for a game to end that way, right or not).

At least the Lakers fans are now showing some emotion instead of the usual uncaring attitude whether their team is losing or winning a game.

They're doing too much of that.

Derek Fisher is a punk. Surprised he's still in the league, let alone the starting PG on the defending champ's team. That's all.

Well I just hate all the Lakers fans that always bitch whenever things don't go their way. I watched the game and there were some bad reffing but Kobe also had some antics that didn't deserve calls like when he just threw himself right into shaq trying to be paul pierce. Also throwing those foam hands mean that they were really not used to adversity therefore weren't really true fans of the team but just a bunch of bandwagoners.

It's LA, random bandwagoners don't go to watch these games, a lot of them are celebs and stuff like this. And I agree and I said so many times that the refs were awful for both sides. The people who say something like " *insert losing team* fans always complain when things don't go their way ", but if it goes the other way around, the other fans complain. For example, me, I said that the Lakers didn't show up, as did many others, but the only thing that people do is brag in the fans faces how retarded they are and stuff. Give me a break..

You can't push all the Lakers fans into the "awful fan" category just because of what happened yesterday. Although it was a ton of foam fingers, that would be just like saying ALL Detroit Pistons fans are stupid drunk ritards because of the Malice at the Palace. The people who do the stupid shit are, but honestly, many of the truest fans of teams don't go to the games at all.

Can't say the same about today's game today against Nuggets, who really played well against Cavs without Melo, making key plays in the end and winning the game. Good game, Cavs faught to the very end.
