Can I create a player in association mode?

I am playing association mode with my friends, since the request for the free agent that the official 2k10 roster didn't included (E.g. Von Wafer, Linas Kleiza, Josh Childress), I found that I can only create them before the start of association, are there any other methods allow me to create players during the association game play? (Or, how to change the name of some existed free agents? )

just create a player and assign it to a your team then start the association. hope this can help
