Re: A Legend Is Born II - Phoenix Suns

I haven't had a full listen to it but my friend, who loves Jigga, loved it. He also recommended Loso's Way. I'm more of an RnB person so I got Blueprint while I was buying Chris Brown's Graffiti... so I listened to C Breezy first before I listened to Jigga, hence have not listened to it properly. That's why was asking to see what songs you liked so I can see if I like them first. :)

I will let you know my thoughts in a few days though!

Okay, I listen to RnB occasionally, but I hate the two tracks I mentioned first although they have some singing on the chorus. It's just to much pop for me. Especially the track with Rihanna.

Yeah, when I listen to Run This Town, I think it's Rihanna feat Jay Z and Kanye...

my fave album is the Black Album

Monthly Recap: April
Part Four: NLSC Rookie Focus

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part Four of the Monthly Recap is the NLSC Rookie Focus where one NLSC rookie is chosen to be presented to you, the reader, in order for you to get to know them better. Part Five will feature the NLSC Player Focus.

Player Focus: James Carter

# 23 | SG | Los Angeles Lakers (45-37) |
6’6” | 225 lbs | Age: 23 | UCLA |
2010 Draft | Round: 1 |Pick: 18 |

Position Rank: 26th
Overall Rank: 116th
Role: Starter
Agent: "Nothing to complain about.”
09-10 Statistics: 12.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.0 spg, 0.9 bpg, 27.2 mpg

James Carter is a hero in Los Angeles. After growing up and playing in LA all his life, the rookie could not believe that the Lakers picked a homegrown product. “It felt like it came out of a movie,” Carter stated after the Draft, “I can’t wait to start playing for this team.”

Carter was lucky as he got a quick welcome to the league and his development was fast tracked courtesy of an injury to another former UCLA Bruin, Jordan Farmar. Farmar’s absence from the team, due to injury, thirsted Carter into the starting five. Starting alongside Kobe Bryant and guarding the best player on opposing teams night in and night out meant Carter got a chance that many rookies didn’t.

“To start games was an absolute honor,” Carter says looking back on his season, “I am so lucky that coach had enough faith in my abilities to let me start for my favorite basketball team ever.”

The Lakers should be pleased with their catch as Carter seems to have the tools to one day fill the shoes of Kobe Bryant. He averaged double figures in his first year as well as filling up the whole stat sheet. However, his rookie year was not a surprise as many knew that the team had just picked up a steal.

“Carter was a top ten talent who happened to have some attitude problems and off-court problems that really hurt his draft stock. We all knew that if he picked up his act, then he would be able to deliver,” one Western Conference scout stated. Another said, “James Carter was a high risk, high reward player. It was just depending on which team was willing to make a gamble.”

The Lakers decided to bite the bullet on their selection of James Carter and after one year, it seemed to have paid off. Carter’s inclusion in the starting five allowed Bryant to run the point. Carter’s play at SG was so impressive that he kept his starting spot when Farmar came back and allowing Bryant to play at SF. The Lakers are now excited that they are nearly back to where they were a few years ago. With the rapidly improving Andrew Bynum and Farmar, Bryant and Gasol in their primes; it is hoped that Carter is the final piece to this edition of the Lakers’ quest for an elusive championship.

Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Sorry

Martti Must has made a tearful apology to fans and media after the Memphis Grizzlies’ slide out of the playoffs came to a close with just that result. The Grizzlies’ were strong starters to the season but helplessly watched their season spiral out of control from the start of the new year.

Must took the podium and answered questions before becoming inconsolable as a number of journalists took a swipe at his leadership credentials and capabilities. One of them berated him for being ‘soft’ and living in the shadow of Reshawn Tyson, the player whom all of them said was the only reason why Must was drafted in the lottery. One journalist said, “You are not a leader and you are not an All-Star. You are an imposter who is only here because of Tyson who helped win you a title with the Tar Heels.”

Must apologized profusely for not leading the Grizzlies to the playoffs before being escorted out of the room.

Andrew Watson Injured

The Denver Nuggets’ Andrew Watson will miss the start of the playoffs as he is nursing a strained Achilles. The Nuggets’ starting SG should be easily replaced as sixth man JR Smith fills the void created in the starting five. Watson finished his second NBA campaign on a tear as he found his shooting touch.

Zoilo Can’t Wait For Playoff Debut

Philadelphia 76ers PG Zoilo Resurreccion cannot wait to make his playoff debut as the Sixers line up against the Eastern Conference leading Miami Heat. Resurreccion will have challenge of holding down Heat PG Mario Chalmers and limiting the Heat playmaker’s effectiveness. He hopes it will have a flow-on effect onto MVP candidate Dwyane Wade’s game.

“If I can stop Chalmers, that hopefully means less touches for Wade,” the Sixers’ top assists getter says, “My job is to stop Chalmers and that will hopefully help our team stop Wade.” He also mentioned a priority of his was to get the ball to PF Elton Brand, “Elton has not played well all season and we need him a lot if we want to get to the second round.”

Moore: Trade For A Star

New Zealand SG Mark Moore has pleaded with the Charlotte Bobcats’ front office to trade for a star player. Moore even decided to play GM at a team press conference to close the season, “We have so many point guards, maybe we could trade a few of them away and some point scorers.”

PG Russell Westbrook didn’t take Moore’s comments well, “If Mark wants to be the manager, maybe he should trade himself first.” Moore later claimed that his comments were taken out of context.”

The story so far

Breaking News: Tyson Out For Season

Apr 16, 2011

SEATTLE (AP) – Seattle Stealth starting SG Reshawn Tyson has decided to end his season prematurely in a press conference this morning. Tyson cited injury as well as personal issues for the end of his sophomore season in which he was a key contributor to the team's surge to make the NBA playoffs.

Tyson dropped a bombshell on the Stealth camp after the team held its final training run in preparation for their first game against the LA Clippers. The injured Tyson called a press conference along with General Manager Will Sit and Head Coach George Karl. Tyson refused to field any questions from media and promptly left the team training facility.

The media has had mounting suspicions about Tyson's personal problems; unheard of until a recent altercation with a middle-aged man in a recent game against the New York Knicks. Tyson was seen fighting a man at Madison Square Garden during a game against the Knicks; the man later dropped assualt charges against Tyson. Since that incident, rumours have surfaced that Tyson has been suffering from depression for over a year; a result of personal problems.

Stealth GM Sit denied that the team had any knowledge of Tyson's problems, if they existed, "To our knowledge as a franchise, we do not know whether these allegations of Reshawn Tyson suffering from depression are true. However, if he is then as an organisation we are here to support him. We stand behind his decision to stop playing and focus on getting his life back on track." Sit explained the circumstances leading up to Tyson's announcement, "Reshawn came to me and asked for time off. The injury is not healing as quick as we expected and by the time he would return, he was worried he'd ruin the team's chemistry. I thought it was a mature decision from a young player and I thought it was a good decision too."

Coach Karl applauded his young starter for his decision, "We will miss Reshawn's scoring ability but for our team, you don't want guys coming back from injury during the second round because it could ruin our chemistry. He obviously knows where his limits are and he knows whether he has the physical and mental capacity to contribute. The feeling I get is that even if he was fit and healthy, he did not feel his head would be in the game."

Tyson, a former Tar Heel star, flourished into a dependable and electric second scoring option for Seattle. He will be replaced by veteran Raja Bell in the starting five.

Oh big loss dude, loving the writing though, seems so real. Damn right the Bobcats need a trade but I wouldn't want it to be Westbrook, we must make up one of the most high octane backcourts in the league!

You, G-Force, Devin Harris, Russell Westbrook. I can't remember who else is on your team but you guys have a lot of depth at the Guard spots.

2nd round is a good possibility... but then we would need to beat Portland to make Western Semis... which would be a very tough ask...
