Not a great outing for Andersen, 5 points, 2 rebounds, an assist and a block in 14 minutes. It was a nice block though and he did hit a nice turnaround for one of his two field goals, but as with the game against the Lakers the other week I thought he looked a bit uncomfortable at times.

It did seem like that Andrew.

When the ball was passed to him it just looked like the offensive rhythm that they had going stopped, he tried to make a few difficult shots that didn't come off instead of passing it around.

I suppose he's still trying to find his place on the team. He needs to settle it down a bit though, some of those shots were ill-advised, panicked attempts.

Big game from Bogut tonight, again. 21 points (10/18), 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. Made Lopez look like a scrub.

8 points (3/4) 5 boards in 12 minutes for David Andersen. Jawai had 2 and 2 in 15.

I like the fact that he has gotten at least 10 minutes per game for his last 7 games, and that he's actually starting to rack up a few assists per game, something that he should definitely keep working on.

His numbers are still modest and as discussed before, it still seems as though he's trying to get comfortable with his role on the team and with the NBA game, but I agree that it's encouraging that he's getting some playing time and not just racking up DNP-CDs.

Bogut had a great game today, 22 points with 10-17, with 15 rebounds and 3 assists. (Y)

Shame it came at the Bulls' expense. Still, good to see him back earlier than expected and putting up big numbers.

Not to mention his 4 blocks and 3 steals. He was awesome, and destroyed Noah and Deng (twice) on dunk attempts.

I remember we banned someone a few years back after they signed up just to flame about the roster updates and Bogut's overall rating (which was far from the highest in the rosters anyway), referring to him as "just some sissy from Australia". It's great to see him posting the numbers that he is and becoming a more important player for the Bucks.

You should bring that guy back, rub his nose in it and then ban him again.

And call his mother a bitch as well.

Has there been any further word on Patrick Mills yet?

Great first game back from Bogut. Good to see the Bucks get a win against the Bulls after that one they lost earlier in the season despite being like 15 points up at halftime.

Has there been any further word on Patrick Mills yet?

I'm guessing he's still recovering from injury. :(

Re: Aussie Watch

Bogut sucked tonight.

Re: Aussie Watch

Tue Dec 22, 2009 4:11 pm

And how. 31 points on 14/19 from the field, 18 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. What a bust.

Seriously though, :headbang:

Re: Aussie Watch

:)

He seriously is stepping up this season. Just surprising... Bogut, Redd, and Jenning(if develops right) I think will be quite a trio for years to come.

Re: Aussie Watch

It could've been better. He had 12/7 in the first quarter on 5/6 shooting, Skiles took him out for 8 minutes. For most of the fourth quarter the guards on the team completely ignored him on offense. He spent the whole time chasing Brandon Jennings around trying to set screens for him.

 Now there's an entertaining visual. Reminds me of the times in my basketball game where I spend entire possessions running away from the ball so that there's someone more than two meters away from it.

Re: Aussie Watch

Happy that he had a good game, but really concerned about the amount of games Bogut is leaving in the lurch because of his shitty free throw shooting. This is a guy that had an alright touch out to 3 point range as a 17 year old, so what the hell has happened? Get practising Bogie. I want you to up that clip by at least 10-15% so you're not such a liability at end of game situations.

The next Aussie to make it (IMO Ogilvy won't get drafted, then he'll go to Europe, although if there's any year a C will get drafted, it’s in this one where predications see only 4-5 Centres being drafted). His a very good family friend of mine - Matthew Dellavedova. At St. Mary's now, and even though his year has been sporadic and inconsistent at best, his well on track to be drafted and is playing Patty Mills-like College ball. Very hard worker and has what it takes to make NBA, good PG vision and could make a decent backup court general in the NBA. Thoughts? knowledge? insight?

Re: Aussie Watch

Fri Dec 25, 2009 8:37 pm

I think Ogilvy's a lot more likely to get drafted than Dellavedova at this point, he'll have to lift his shooting percentage (41%) and probably start scoring a bit better but he's only a freshman so he has plenty of time. His numbers are pretty similar to Mills' freshman season. Personally I think Anatoly Bose, Ater Majok and AJ Ogilvy would be the only Aussies ahead of him draft-wise but it's cool that you know him, keep us updated on how he's doing.

I certainly will keep you updated on his situation. Its interesting to note he made little of representative teams until his later adolescence and then was picked up into the AIS (Australian Institute of Sport) which is where his career really got a kick. Since then he has been improving dramatically. It will be interesting to see how the Australians fare with such a wealth of players in college this year. Haven't heard about Bose (I will research him in due course)

Patty Mills had 38 points and 12 assists in his D-League debut. :) Amazing performance.

Yep, already posted this in Blazers thread. Realistically, Mills is too good for NBDL. He was a star at Olympics. I hope Blazers deal away Miller & call him back up

Re: Aussie Watch

Not surprised by Mills' performance. He's a fringe NBA starter IMO. There's a reason why the Blazers signed him even when he went down to injury. :)
