Hell no... I want to be able to play the game... I was just saying that if you are a GM of a frachise you do almost everything else except play the game so these things should matter more. And the newest championship manager is way too complex and too detailed to my liking. 01/02 was great, but it didn't have the graphical situational stuff aka visuals of a chance.
But championship manager is the kind of in the right direction. Have you ever played NHL 2004's dynasty mode? That would be most welcome to NBA as well. The improvements and the salary stuff and maximum cap stuff. That would be just sweet. But I would like to get a some sort of a player-GM feedback stuff into the game cause all the players are at the moment are numbers on a piece of paper (or a dbf file). And nothing more.
That would be the most important thing... To get some interaction between the team and the GM (you) and some sort of a morale factor too. Morale to show how happy the players are or something... Everyone gets along and T-Mac would be happy to come off the bench behind Kobe or a team could have three over 80 overalled players in a single position and none of them would complain about his playing time which is really just unrealistic.
I want to see more of those pop-up windows that Live 2004 has during simulation... I want to see when players get injured, I want to see when players recover from those injuries. I want to see when a player gets too fatigued to play.
NHL 2003 had a great feature... When an AI contacted you about a deal there was no hurry to accept or decline it. You could simply not reply and do the research and math etc. and maybe even play a few games before deciding on the matter... I would really like to see a screen for trade proposals. So maybe show a pop-up window for that with options to either continue or goto trade proposal. And you could exit the trade proposal leaving it open to think about it and see all the relevant information about it. And attached to this feature I'd really like to see a trading block to which you could put some players to see if they get any intrest from anyone, and then you could select the best deal in your mind for you and not just declining one in hopes that other offers will be coming your way.
NHL 2003 has had the ultimately best UI in a EASports game I've ever played and they should copy it to all their games... It was just perfect... I couldn't wish for a better UI. Especially the direction the Live UI is taking it would be wise to take a step back and redesign the whole thing to make it more usable. It just sucks...
