How to edit the comments?

Tue Nov 24, 2009 2:24 am

Someone knows how to change the comments to put my own in the NBA LIVE 2008? I was looking all over and find nothing. If anyone knows how to please say so.

Alguien sabe como modificar los comentarios para poner los mios propios en el NBA LIVE 2008? Estuve buscando por todos lados y no encuentro nada. Si alguien sabe como que lo diga porfavor.

English only, please.

If you're talking about the commentary, we cannot edit it.

Correct, we can't edit it.

wait wait wait wait wait :P

you say "we". Eso quiere decir que a lo mejor, si existe alguna manera de cambiar los comentarios, pero que ustedes no saben?

Again: English only, please.

I'm not sure what you're getting at there, but it is impossible to edit commentary. Period. No ifs, buts, or hidden meanings to what I said. Commentary cannot be edited because there is no available tool that allows us to open and modify the audio files.

Why in the NBA Live 06 if you can?
I think the tool is called Audy 06. Would have to contact its creator and tell you to the Audy 08 jajajajajajaja

Re: How to edit the comments?

Because Audy 06 does not work with NBA Live 08. As for creating a tool that's compatible with NBA Live 08, it's not like the idea hasn't been brought up before now. It doesn't look like that's going to happen as NBA Live 08 has been out for a couple of years now and the idea has been talked about before.

Furthermore, you're talking about editing the commentary. At this point in time, we've only be successful in editing the PA announcer audio (the arena speech) in NBA Live 06, so again what you're suggesting is not possible with the tools we have, or are likely to have.

mmmmmmm, Then, see if this can be for example ..... Edit Comment of Jason Kidd, rather than say Jason Kidd, I recorded the comment about my voice, saying "peeling", and when I play instead of Jason Kidd, say "shelling". This can? No matter if it's arena or not.

Not in NBA Live 08, no. As I said, Audy 06 doesn't work properly with NBA Live 08.

Re: How to edit the comments?

Are you sure you can't edit speech files in Nba Live 08? Because after downloading your update, I know you already know this but it's an example, for Rodney Stuckey the PA announcer says Dudley...so that speech file is changed? Maybe I'm mixed up and your talking about commentators... :)

Re: How to edit the comments?

Tue Nov 24, 2009 5:41 pm

Positive. You can change the SPEECHID attribute in players.dbf to make use of existing audio (which is what I've done), but you can't add or edit new audio to the speech files (which is what franmdq is talking about doing).

Incidentally, I've fixed that error ready for v3.3. Stuckey's SPEECHID should be 2396, if anyone wants to correct it themselves in the meantime.

Ok, thanks, hopefully somone will come up with a program to edit 08's files! :)

It'd be nice, but as I said before it seems unlikely that will happen.

was thinking and an idea came to me. It may be unrealistic. But I do not know much about it, so here is the proposition:

I thought about creating some kind of file, which acts in the game, and that is associated with. DBF players and sounds created by us. For example, in a new folder called audio, we could put that file, (I'm sure there must be some program that implements these features), and that file contains the information you take the ball to Jason Kidd, say, peeling, etc ..., and the sound file you save as mp3 or wav etc. .. in the same folder.

And the original folder Audio, would have to remove, or disable it, so that the game does not stop working.

I hope you understood my idea.
I'm sure it worked, this can be achieved. :cheeky:

Im wait for answer and other ideas!

Nope, can't be done. Points for creativity, but I'm afraid you're just going to have to accept that what you want to do cannot be accomplished.

Look, I admire your enthusiasm and everything but it's not as though we haven't tried these things as a community before coming to the conclusion that nothing can be done without a utility like Audy 06 that's compatible with 08...which we don't have, and is unlikely to be made at this time.
