I am so sick of cheesers, but seriously, 2k10 does a much better job than 2k9 did last year, with the new ratings system you can shut guys down. I am 2-0 against the Cavs, both in Cleveland. Just play a 2-3 zone and clog the paint, you will be surprised how much some dudes suck at this game if you shut down theyr player.
I did the same to this guy who used D.Wade all game, but i smashed him by 22 points.

Cheesers are horrible at the game, you just have to learn to play tough D, and you will always win.

Now don't sit there and think i am just as bad, I have a record of 9-0 with the WIZARDS, and none of my players have ever scored more than 28 (G.Arenas) points.

Theres no "way" that anyone should play. This thread is just designed to point out people that are horrible at the game and have to cheese points to stay competitive.

Once again I had a guy quit. He was the Knicks, i was the Wizards. He opened an early onslaught and held on to an 8 point quarter time lead. In the 2nd quarter I once again amped up the defence, ran some plays for agent 0 and mike miller, came back, and led by 4 at halftime, then the guy quits. So lame. My record should be up around 11-0, but it remains at 2-0 according to 2k sports.

I agree with Daniel24, there's no way you should play, if you face a guy: that averages something like 30 ppg, has more assists than the PG of his team, 8 rpg and plays in a team scoring 48% at 0-10 seconds of the shot clock, why should you expect something so different than real life? The Cavs ONLY had a record of 66-16 'cause of Lebron James!!!!!!! The guy is the best player in NBA together with Kobe, you can't face those teams hoping for some mercy of James or Kobe!!! If you bring me a screenshot of a guy that abused James Posey...We'll have a conversation.

And I'm sorry Eich but this guy who played with the cavs is stupid, his first shot with Lebron was after 2:21 minutes of game at the first quarter, here are the stats with Lebron:

1st quarter: ONE shot with Lebron, his first at 3:39.
2nd quarter: ZERO shot with Lebron. That's not normal. Being polite.
3rd quarter: FOUR shots with Lebron.
4th quarter: SIX shots with Lebron after 3:34 of the last quarter when he was losing the game by 13 points.

As you can see he's not using Lebron wisely, he's just avoiding playing with him 'cause he doesn't want to look bad to the community, but when he was losing by too much with half a quarter to be played he took more shots with Lebron in less than 3 minutes than in 3 wholes quarters, conclusion...?

well no he was not worried about the community, he's not a pro, so he didn't use lebrons advantage , when the game was on the line, he found that lebron is best in this situation and he tried to use it.

Ah, guys, I don't think, there are any abusers in the game (except cheaters ).
Maybe you are just not enough skilled?
In my opinion, a true Pro can easily beat one-sided unbalanced opponent's game. Just try to use different strategies. Zone is very useful against Points in the Paint, and put your best defender on Superstar player, also applying Deny Ball to him.
I don't think, there are some strong and weak attacking strategies in the game. So, if an opponent plays only with one startegy, it's easy to find defensive tactics against him. But if he is a pro and he varies his tactics from one attack to another, it's much more difficult to close him down...

So, peace, dudes. Have more trainings.

PS: I can't say, that I'm Pro, but, playing with PHX and Bobcats, I won those, who played using only Bron or D. Wade. Still, it's a huge room for my skills to be developed either.

if you don't realize this by now, the game works on a rating system, aka no matter how well you time anything Jamario Moon will no, i repeat WILL NOT make more baskets than LBJ period,(dont we all acknowledge that the sim of 2Ksports is pretty realistic? it is supossed to be like real life) LBj is avg 27.5 pts with 52% shooting and 38% for 3s while Moon is avg 3(really)pts per game with 33% shooting and 12%(no really) for 3s.

For sure, if we play a game that Kobe scores 81 points(10 or 12 minutes quarter) in multiplayer, we'll think: "Oh my god, this guy is cheating with kobe!!!" But no. Kobe did it in real life, and he already scored 40, 50, 60, 70 and so on.

The key principle here people, is DEFENCE. I am 3-0 against the cavs (all 3 quit when i was handing lebron a spanking) and 1-0 against the lakers. Bring it!

And cheesing one player doesnt make you a cheater i fully agree, but it just shows the lack of hoops knowledge and/or skills you have on the game.

its easy to stop cheesing with lebonr and kobe though.. set double team to them and they will not pass out of it cos they suck with any body else.. also alternate from full court trap to trap lebron( done this and it works too) and zone. he wont be able to get into the paint i give the cavs spankin every damn time

there's the thing, They do it in 12min quarters not 5min. Plus other teammates score and you can see it during the game.
I didnt make my statement very clear.. "If you can only make Brick shots with Moon or any other low-end player..".
And the team is not made of 2 players (LJ and JM), there are other players that can score, why not use them? If someone sucks, try something with another. Just dont score 50+points with lebron on 5min quarters.

5 minutes quarter = 20 minutes game = one and a half possession in a minute(24 sec + 24 sec + 12 sec) = 30 possessions for all teams in a game and 15 for each team. Since people who cheats with Lebron use less than 24 seconds trying to score, average 10 seconds you can double the amount of possessions for this guy's team, wich means 30 possessions. That same cheater with Lebron don't shoot from the 3 point line, he is a inside scorer. so 30 possessions, 60 points at max. According to a screenshot up there a guy with cavs shoots .72 field goal percentage, so we have 43,2 points total for a team. Lebron is good but he is not Zeus.

It's because some of you elaborated on how to stop a cheeser while the thread specifically states Hall of Shame Online - Post Abusers Here. To those of you who didn't bother to click on the cheeser link from the first post, let me quote it to you this time:

The keyword here is repetition, and much of that. If all you do in each possesion on a 5-minute quarter is attack the basket with 17-19 seconds left in the shot clock, then that's surely repetitive.

In a sense, we don't care if you are a "pro" at defending cheesers. You are very free to discuss it in a new thread you may wish to create. The fact of the matter here is that the player was cheesing and he/she deserves to be inducted in the NBA 2K10 Online Hall of Shame for abusing or exploiting a system in the game.

So the next time you post in this thread, answer this question first and then think: Did the player make use of exploits? If yes, then go ahead and post your evidence. Users have already posted examples of those exploits like "points in the paint lover" or "Kobe scoring more than 50% of his team's total score" or "quitting to protect his ranking". Otherwise, have a healthy debate over why that player doesn't deserve to be in the Hall of Shame list. There's no need to boast about being a pro at stopping cheesers or preach on how to stop a cheeser because that isn't the point of this thread.

- use or manipulate to one's advantage;

I don't wanna remove anyone, thing is: human defense is way worse than CPU, so abusing or whatever someone like Lebron James against human opponents is much easier and much more likeble. So penetrating with this guys is easy and a weapon that even the guy that say he is not a abuser or whatever with one of this players, uses james or kobe when he feel in need of, like that guy in my previous post. So losing for a guy that abuse or exploit the superstars is a normal thing we have to accept that and just try to improve our defense.
The legacy of players like Lebron, Jordan or Kobe is a buch of strong dumb players who try to stop those guys and that's why we now have a much more physical game, 'cause Jordan was an intelligent player and strong, since not everybody can develop talent through training, you develop muscles... My point is: for those willing to win a game against Lebron James, must develop defense. Because I think is abusive too to segregate people who try in a stupid way to win a game by abusing superstars. Since they are not using trainers or tools beyond the game, they can do what they want! If you in your privacy never want to play anymore with one of these guys, let it be, it's your right too, but this topic is like an inquisition trying to burn witches at public squares.

I wonder why you still didn't get the point of this thread. The point is that the player was cheesing/abusive/used exploits and this thread aims to expose that player and his/her play style. Whether you accept these play styles or not is up to you, but it's not the point of this thread. You may go ahead and post your "is a normal thing we have to accept" idea in a new thread. On here, it would appear that you are just boasting and trying to get your point across no matter how irrelevant it is.

But I definitely don't want to burn witches if they have done nothing wrong. As you may have observed, we have evidence in the form of videos, screen shots and descriptions that show that the player was indeed cheesing/abusive/using exploits.

Apply this to any online game and your point is still valid. Now read the definition of cheesing I quoted from Urban Dictionary. As you'll see, you can do whatever you want in any game and repeat whatever you just did over and over again. Of course. It's a game! I can go ahead and have 6 fouls early in the 1st quarter if I wanted to. I can attack the basket every time I get a possession if I wanted to. That's just what games are. You give them instructions and they'll do it.

However, I presume that many players play NBA 2K10 because they want to play NBA basketball, at least in a simulated computer game environment. In an NBA basketball game, each team has playbooks, rotations, 5 players on court, etc. and many want to play NBA 2K10 as close to the real NBA game as possible... especially in an online head-to-head environment. In other words, I presume that many players want to play NBA 2K10 as the Lakers or the Cavs or the Heat or the Nuggets and not as Kobe or Lebron or Dwayne or Carmelo. There is a 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 street basketball game for the latter and players are free to choose that kind of game if it's the play style they want.

But cheesing is cheesing. We have evidence for that. If you still can't get it, then read, rinse, repeat.

All I can say is i friggin hate cheesers, but sometimes you can adjust your defense(without cheesing) and barely win..........but most of the time I lose to cheesers, and I don't care really, and even with the server/s down I am sort of a noob to this forum and my first online experience with 2k10 was so horrible; but I let it go. I still ran some plays, some pick-n-roll, alot of inside out game with off-ball screens.

Is there a way to add these users some of you have posted about, ex: penny, and have her blocked so I never get matched up with her? (sorry; I'm a noob to steam, but definitely not to playing NBA2k games online(8-9-10). I sold my 360 though...damnit, at least there 30FPS low texture gaming has online service now......



I'm also wondering if there is even a patch being prepared for us PC Gamers. My little cousins 360 plays online fine right now, and I have a buddy who told me his started working online over a week or two ago(partial amnesia, haha). So wtf? PC patch?
