I read in a few different articles that it died.

Yeah my understanding was that the bat was killed.

Most of the stuff I read is that it died. But later updates state that it was alive and later released outside the arena. I've read a PETA blog complaining about it. Lots of idiotic comments.

When I saw the clip I thought that it was dead for sure. Ginobili swatted it pretty damn hard.

Sounds about right. Their cause is noble, but I don't much care for their general attitude or their methods.

Yeah. They're too self-righteous. I'd think they'd rather save the animals on a sinking ship than the people on it.

I think PETA's reaction on this is pretty stale. They should understand that the game was delayed more than once. Who would know Manu would hit a haymaker on that bat?

I remember a local collegiate league where a bird sits atop of the shot clock and flies to the other when the game is changing possession.

some other guy which uploaded the Manu clip on YouTube wrote:BatManU Ginobili during SPURS vs KINGS on Halloween. Both the BAT and the KINGS lost.

They're also very dismissive of any humanitarian organisations, stating that they're only concerned with animal welfare (presumably at any cost) when any of their points are challenged as being rather callous - or in the case of their "Drink Beer, Not Milk" campaign, irresponsible - towards their fellow human beings. So in other words, they want everyone to care about their cause, but they don't give a damn about anyone else. Worse yet are the airheaded celebrities who promote PETA's causes when they don't have a clue what they're talking about.
