help, my nba2k10 in my desktop is slow even if...

Fri Oct 23, 2009 12:14 am

I had a inno3d 9500gt 512mb pci-e, 2 gigs of RAM kingston ddr2 800, 160gb HDD, pentium d 820 2.8ghz, 600w of psu and windows SP3

Now my problem is, even if I try to lower the video and gameplay settings to low, still the performance of the game is very slow. What should I do to improve it?

Now in my mind that I suggesting to upgrade my p.c but I don't know what's the right choice to choose from..

My motherboard brand is Gigabyte ESC2/L and it's upgradable to core2duo to core2quad series of intel pentium and a slot of memory (dual channel)

Then if the graphics card is the problem, should I switch to another brand like A.T.I or PALIT series?

I appreciate your kindess to this matter,

Thanks!!!

Your CPU is outdated and slow, it's your bottleneck here, the rest is decent enough.
This should probably go in the "general" 2K10 section though.

Ok thanks, my friend benchmark my performance in nba2k10 and it found that the ratio is 110:10 while his p.c with windows vista geniune' with the specs of 2.66ghz core2duo, 3gb of RAM, 350gb HDD and inno3d 9400gt 512mb low profile video card ratios to 110:18 (plays 16 to 18 fps he says) performs a smooth performance with a high settings game..

So I guess that you said,I'll upgrade my processor, I found that 2.93ghz core2duo in our market were cheap. Do you think it will boost the game or should I search for another?

Thanks for your replies!!

I should certainly be a nice boost compared to your current CPU, if it's cheap enough it's worth it.

If you mean my specs, they are:
Quadcore Q6600
GTX260 896MB
4GB RAM PC6400
Gigabyte 965P-DS3

Nothing fancy but it gets the job done with any game so far.

16-18 fps is not smooth, Im playing with an fps around 50's and the game still lags sometime I've already set all settings to low except players to medium and texture to high.

I guess my Procie is the culprit AMD athlon x2 4000+ 2.1ghz with 4670 512mb ddr3 and 2gb of mem.

16-18 fps can be smooth if you lower the game speed. Really low.

Change the setting in your config file. Try replacing it with 2K9's

nope, 16-18fps is the performance..so yes its slow generally speaking..not sure how a constant 16fps feels on 2k10 though.
